Well Nestle have gone and put on the back of some chocolate wrappers the halal ingredients. I fail to understand why this is necessary.
A scenario,
Mr Muslim wants some smarties, he sees they are halal ok, buys them.
Mr Christian wants the same smarties, sees they are halal, can't buy them.
A christian from what i come to understand would never want to eat something blessed by a muslim, just as the muslim wouldn't eat anything blessed by a christian.
I am so sick to death of our society catering to this minoritys needs. Halal killed animals are brutal and should be banned WORLDWIDE. The meat tastes no different to any other meat.
To you Christians out there, next time you buy a roast lamb, roast beef or lamb chops, just think this, 60% of meat slaughtered in Australia is halal blessed.
First banning of bacon in KFC/McDonalds, now Woolies and Coles are looking into labelling their meat, when is it going to stop?
So what are peoples thoughts on all this?

it seems inevitable that we will eventually become a musy state.
I dont agree with what the companies r doing. i think once they enter our country they should leave thier religiuos bs at the door!
This is why I can't stand religions.
If they want halal bs, go back to a country where Muslims are the majority.

Sorry i disagree, everyone is entitled to their beleifs, however, we shouldn't have to be made publically aware of it.
Oh on a side note, i see the pope is considering allowing use of condoms for catholics. How far behind the times are these fools? Sorry but do catholics really practice unsafe sex?

I don't see a problem with muslims having their own food lines.
as long as I can continue to purchase the food i want...
to me a 'halal' symbol is like the heart foundation tick - anyone can still eat the item, it just is peace of mind for muslims, so that they know there is nothing in the food that they find objectionable.
Meat seems to be an issue though... I wonder what RSPCA would have to say about slaughtering process..
I remember when i did my Taxi training, the taxi base shouted us pizzas one night. They were all vegetarian as 99% drivers were muslim/middle eastern origin, one pizza ended up having some pork on it. man, did that cause a stir!

its a cunning plan - they want to take over the world - they don't use birth control except for abstinence. (thats the hard core catholics anyway) I don't think the hard cores believe in sex before marriage.
its amazing though how many nuns and priests have got together and had babies. they have been instances in backward countries where babies have gone missing as soon as they were born in this situation. shocking.

we've sort of got to keep religious liberty - although I don't profess a religion, I think thats one major difference between western society and the more backward countries where there is persecution if you don't follow the state religion. or none in the case of communisim

Halal cannot be compared to heart symbol, the heart tick is a lower fat meat reccomended by the heart foundation, it in no way singles out anyone. The Halal meat however is blessed under islam, so as i said, how many people of other religions will want to eat something blessed by another?
Sorry but Nestle stand open to some BIG legal issues, such as "Hi, im priest childlover, i have always liked your kit kats, however, i find out now you are using meat by product that has been blessed by someone of another faith."
Sorry, but i do not want to eat anything that has been slaughtered inhumanely and that is blessed by something i do not believe.

why cant Christians eat halal meat?
Meh - AFAIK there is nothing in the christian bible that forbids one from eating food blessed by a muslim. If there is no other changes beyond a few words on a box and some guy waving his hands about and chanting then what difference does it make?
I don't like the idea of banning bacon from KFC/McDonalds but have no objection to them offering bacon free options for their menu items. As for the Supermarkets labeling their meats - what is wrong with that??? IMHO it falls into the same catagory as the smarties.

its not that they 'cant' its that they 'wont'. Meh, Ive have not been brought up with an religion, but I too am waiting for the christian reasoning behind not eating Halal meat, Id say its just because some other 'unchristain' faith has blessed it. Or maybe they are concerned with the animal rights? I doubt it thou. Id say its more like, 'Im not eating that cus you blessed it' which kinda sounds like my kids, "ew Im not eating that, she blew/spat/touched/looked on it!"
D.
Since when is bacon banned in KFC/McDonalds, i know for a fact that they still have bacon at McDonalds. Sorry if i got my wires crossed and you are talking about halal bacon or something.
Or is it a plan for the future?
I do think that labeling food because of one religion is going a bit far especially in a society such as this country's, but food labeling for people with special dietary needs is fair enough.
If you're allergic to nuts, lactose intolerant, etc, and you don't know that you may have a reaction to something you're eating because there is nothing telling you this then it will cause big problems. There are foods you would never suspect that are made on production lines that also deal with nuts and I wouldn't have given a second thought to if it wasn't brought to my attention by a warning on the product.
On the other hand eating non halal food products may be against someone's beliefs, but it is certainly not going to kill them if they make that mistake. That's where the difference lies for me in the two types of food labeling mentioned.
Its all a load of shite!
and whats wrong with pig?
sheep and cows walk around with shite hanging from thier asses!
There are now 3 McDonalds here in VIC that serve Halal meat in there burgers.............and sales jumped 30% in the first two weeks so it isnt going to stop.
Personally I agree it shouldnt be done. They have moved here to another country that doesnt follow there practices, if they want halal chocolate get it imported in. Imagine the uproar if I moved to Turkey or Lebanon for example and opened my own shop that sold imported non-halal products.............I think I would last 2 days before I was either shot dead or my shop blown up.

Hmm we should all go out and kick up a stink because there's no jesus crosses on out food packaging, but then being a white boy and an aussie it will probably considered racist![]()
i wonder if they would legalise marijuana because a muslim said it had something to do with their religion, the system so phucked up they would probably allow it.![]()
to be honest im sick and tired of all their shit, stuff majority's and minorities there phucking up my country and as a born citizen i find the bloody bastards have got more rights and actually get heard more then the actual people that have been here for generations, it phuckin pathetic.
say what you will i don't give a f^&k, im not blind, im not deaf and im not stupid i can see whats happening to this country and im not happy about it, it seems alot of people need to open their eyes and stop being sorry for people running from a war torn country...their problem not ours.
mind you i wouldn't have a problem if they didn't try to change australia byt they have and thats what im pissed about.
You move to Australia, you know it's not predominantly Muslim. You accept our ways or bugger off.
No I'm not trying to be racist but why should we all be bending over for what is essentially a minority group. Majority of Aussie practise Xmas, Easter etc and for 200 years or whatever it was never an issue until some sod kicked up a fuss about it in schools and now we have to step around the issue. What a frigging joke.
You move here, you live in our country and I don't give a rats what religion you follow, but at least don't make us change our ways for you, because sure as hell you won't do it for us. It's racist for us to not change things for them, but ask them to change something and nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
