well this afternoon like most tuesdays i fill the tank in the calais cause its the cheap and its the day i get paid,
well today as i was filling up i notice that this would be a cheap tank, at 11.4cent per litre i was laughing i filled my tank for less than 5 dollars
when i went to pay i thought the guy would release and make me pay what it should be, but he goes thats $4.85, being the honest person i am i go, you do know thats a full tank of plup,
all wasnt a lost because he gave me a free bottle of coke because i informed him of the error where as the last guy to fill up with pulp didnt tell him the the servo guy,he just thought he filled up a jerry can and didnt take much notice.
i know a pointless story but it was the most entertainment i had all day

good on you, you did the right thing!![]()
wha?? i wouldne have been honest, a $5 tank of juice, they r ripping us thru the ass fuel companies, ide have taken it and gone
That's great of you.I'd rather tell the guy the problem than drive around with a full tank and feel guilty like crap.

Well if it were me I would have taken the fuel, filled up both our cars, advised family and friends then told the guy. If its advertised at that much then your entitled to only pay that much, so it wouldn't have been dishonest for you to have only paid that amount![]()
fark that i woulda called all my matescharge em $5 for the info and you're laughing!!!!
edit: haha just read that Julie said the same![]()

Happend to me once, but that was when petrol was 1.47 so it was still costing me 47c litre. They just forgot to add the $1. But i filled her right up for a pretty good price.
Australia. Love it or leave it
why would you tell the console operator?
tell all your mates instead![]()
WOW! so if you think about it, you got the fuel for $5 and say you paid $70? hahaha and he gave you a "free" coke? if you work it out you payed $65 for a coke hahahaha better of been worth ithahahaha personally dont know what i would do, i can drive around without being guilty. but probably MITE have told them, depends on my mood
hahaha
I didnt tell them, but they found out because they lady that was infront of me was abusing the register person because she could only fit a few$$ of fuel in her car. she was saying the pump was broken. I new what was happening so i quickly gave him my few bucks for tank of fuel then got the hell out of there, and left the lady to argue all she wants.
Australia. Love it or leave it
i dunno when it comes to servo's they say they make nothing on fuel but have they shown anyone the prove i still think its all a scam. pfft they make more of a mars bar my A*%S.
in regards to the fuel i wouldnt have told thats there fault, and you could have said thats all the mechine says so thats all u are payn nothing they can do about it.
but then again id prob feel bad too lol
Always In Construction Mode!!!!!![]()
As much as i may have felt guilty for the servo owners, petrol prices are ridiculous, they'll go back up eventually, i wouldve taken it and gone
did the right thing mate. i worked in a servo for 7 years and we had to cut back hours and jobs because of drive-offs. it took something like a day or two of profit just to cover a $65 stolen tank of fuel. in the end they just closed earlier adn opened later because daytime was a safer bet not to be robbed, in the process someone was laid off.
so for those who say they are making a killing, and he should have run with it, think about the jobs, cos no doubt if some thieving **** caused you to lose your job youd be spitting the dummy too.
yeh but the thing is it wouldnt be stealing, it would be buying it for the advertised price @ the pump. If someone screwed up with the price and it cost them they are going to learn real fast not to make the same mistake again.
what sux though julie, is that our prices were set in another town by computer link. they screw up, we dont get out to the forecourt to see the problem for quite sometime (if at all) and by then the place is in trouble already. thats why it sucks. if everyone was a fraction more honest people would be happier.
Yeah you're right, it's tough sometimes. Mainly due to people like you being unwilling to look after anyone other than yourself. Can't believe some people are willing to whinge about foreigners disrespecting the Aussie way of life and then come in here and say they'd have no problem ripping someone off for making a mistake.
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

Picking up a lost phone and keeping it would be illegal I believe, going in, paying for petrol for the price on the pump isn't illegal big difference.
I know personally I have gone to fill up and theres been someone out the front changing the price on the sign. Now if they change that price to a lower price while I am filling up but the petrol pump still reads the higher price do you think they are going to do the right thing to the customer and lower the total price to reflect what the big signb out the front says?
I don't know how people can say its ripping off someone in this instance, the only ripping off I see is the servo guy for still charging her the full price instead of the advertised price.
Its business, if you are good at your job you don't let these mistakes happen. If they do happen then you should be prepared to cop it on the chin and learn so it doesn't happen again.
