Unlocking Ipod vid?

Hey all,

This one is way off topic....

But does anyone know how to unlock the ipod video so that it can be used on 2 i-tunes.

Coz wen i connect it to the i-tunes on me other computer it wont let u play the music in the ipod, only what is stored on the computer.

Just a pain wen im at work aswell, have to plug the ipod in the speaker lead to listen to tunes, wen it sounds heaps better thru the computer equalizer.

There is consolidate library but not sure if this will do it, not game to let it do it.

Any help would be awsome.

thats strange i got a 30g ipod video and ive had it on about 5 different computors and i could always play the songs from my ipod

Yeah well down where it shows how much memory u have left, there is a little locked padlock to the right of it.

Ive even had problems where it wouldnt share music with my alpine ipod interface for the car. It wouldnt com up with the alpine logo.

But got that problem sorted with a driver update.

But still cant get it to work on another i-tunes

I'm alright.. I have an iRiver.. and dont claim its an ipod rip off because iRiver in fact developed one of the very first portable mp3 players and were pioneers in the area.

Yeah i was looking at gettin a i-river or a creative player, but i got the ipod coz me h/u came with a ipod interface thats y i went it...

BUT I CANT UNLOCK THE FU(KER TO USE AT WORK

Meh had a look couldnt find much, all i can find is programs to dl to unlock the full potential of ur ipod.

Not sure if this accually unlocks it to use mutiple i-tunes, just that u can rip videos onto it with getting off i-tunes.

Anyone else got sum ideas

You can of course cheat and copy the contents of your iPod onto the computer you want to listen on them simply add them to your library on there - don't need to plug it in then

Open windoze exxplorer, show hidden files and folders

Navigate to your ipod and there is a hidden folder called iPod_Control. Inside there is another folder called Music and inside that are a whole slew of folders with your music inside. Simply copy the entire Music folder to your computer and change it from hidden to visible.

Open iTunes and go 'File > Add folder to library' and navigate to the folder you just copied over. It should copy all the music over, along with titles, artists etc etc

Cheers Dan, ive gone to do that but couldnt really be bothered.

Wen i get home the sarvo ill DL this program see if it does unlock it other wise ill just have to copy the lot ova to the comp.

But its weird how other ppl can use mutiple i-tunes n mines locked.

U would think there is a unlock botton sumwhere but there aint.

Any songs you put on the ipod yourself.... Ie mp3's you put on manually can be transferred to another computer.

Any videos or music purchased through iTunes are locked to 1 computer and 1 ipod. There ain't much you can do about it either, any tools that have broken the security measures have been shut down within days... There is nothing I know of that does it at the moment.

Let this be a lesson in life. iTunes and DRM are evil.

you may be right but my point was mainly that iriver existed long before ipod... I get tired of people going "ughh... what a blatant ipod ripoff"... makes me wanna smack them upside the head for their ignorance lol
