You may be experiencing technical difficulties with your FOXTEL service. The service has now been restored nationally.
A box reset may be required to restore your service.
Please exercise caution when dealing with electricity.
To do this please locate the power cord for the FOXTEL set top unit. Switch the power off at the wall and unplug for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord in again and switch the power back on at the wall. Once you have restored power, press the foxtel button on your remote control, picture and sound should return after a few seconds.

Telstra owns almost all of the copper and fiber optic lines so like smokey said no matter who you're with you have to pay line rental to Telstra whether it be obvious or not.
Had the freeze about a week ago I think, video stream was still coming in but the remote and set top box buttons weren't doing anything, had the logic to power it down and viola, problem fixed.. can't wait until later this month, getting IQ, going to hack the shit out of it and attempt a hard drive swap, and also continue the research into getting the video off the hard drive and onto the computer without needing to rely on analog/semi digital resources like component cable (I don't care if they own the box LOL)
mate use a SCART connector, I think that will do the trick. Box office movies are coded so you can't burn/save them.
Nah it's still analog, the best the SCART can do is 480p using component I think (not sure of exact output resolution but it's certainly not 720p), but I want the digital data since it's recording them to the hard drive anyway, gotta be some sort of way to get them off.. apparently a data reading lock of some kind prevents one from just sticking it into a PC but we can work through problems like that with research and modification![]()
