Well.. as *some* of you know, I do telemarketing in Knox area (Melbourne's South Eastern Suburbs). Loving the job, work environment, and pay.
What I don't like is the hours (midday-8pm monday to thursday.. and 10am-5pm every friday and second saturday).
I am currently applying for a job in Frankston (15 minutes from home) offering $2.50/hour LESS than what im currently on. 9-5, Monday to Friday.
I have been considering this highly for a week now, as I don't want to leave where i'm currently at, but I think financially I might have to. Wish me luck eh?
you gotta take a few things into account. travel time/ fuel usage, your mcnunna meetups, what you would use your extra free time for (if you should just work instead), etc. i dont see why you would wanna work in knox when you live so far from it, so maybe frankston is a better choice

good luck, see how ya go and go with what ya instincts tell ya
Stocky, the only reason I ended up at Knox, and telemarketing for that matter.. Was because I was unemployed for 3 months straight. I had people ringing me up asking if certain debts were going to be payed etc, so I went for the first thing..
The reason I never left.. Because I love the work environment etc, it's great.
Think real carefuly then, the most important factor is happiness. If you realy do like your working environment then make sure you'll be just as happy in your new job! Its hard to find a workplace you enjoy working in and I think thats more important than money and travel.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Oh completely true Craig.. I'm going to speak to my boss and make sure that if shit doesn't work out, that my position is guaranteed back where I currently am.
They do say that sometimes change is good as a holiday though.
this is why they invented motorbikescheap to run.... i dont think you could be 100% sure that your going to get your old job back if you dont like it at the new place your thinking of going to. usually empty spaces in those places get filled within a week
Not a bad idea, i left my job a few months ago cos i thought i had a better one, now i dont have a job at all. If i had of talked to my boss before i left i might have been able to go back when the new one fell through.

Spoke to my boss today, who may I add I've built a good friendship with.
Basically told him outright that i've applied for a very similar job closer to home. but I won't ACCEPT the job unless I have guarantee that if it shambles, I can go back to where I am now. He told me that he can't give it to me in writing.. but He's happy with that, and if it fckus up, I can go back.![]()
Sweet, go for it then!
