Default Do you consider this cool!

    Hi all,

well having a good ol argument with my mate last night about having differant sized rims on your car (ie 18's on the front with 15's on the back)

now i think this is stupid and just shows:
    1. your a crap driver and folded one or both of your rims hitting a gutter.
    2. your to poor to afford the other 2 mags.
    3. you bloody stole the things and couldn't get the whole set.

now my mate thinks doing this looks 'cool' and no matter how much i tried to tell him that it's not good to drive around like this, he starts giving me shit and sayin i have n idea what im talkin about!!?? (i thought it was normal to have all my rims the same DIA)

anyway what are your thoughts on this, o you think it looks 'cool' or like me think they are missin a few brain cells.

hahahaha, no it is not cool, however, i do it when i go to calder or a skid pan day to preserve ruining expensive days, as soon as i am home they go back to normal though. To drive around on them all day is just a wank factor.

Yea thats what i kept tryin to say, like minux said, only for skid pan, but he's under the belief that everyone does it and it's the thing to do, im tryin to do him a favour by letting him know it's not cool and he's just going to cop crap from people and unwanted attention from the boys in blue.

oh well i'll let him think it's the greatest it's amuzing but at the same time it kinda hits a nerve arguing about it, if you know what i mean.

btw this is the same guy that thinks he's mark skaife, had his licence for 6 months (3 of those lost due to drink driving) and then tell me how he nearly wrote off his car cuz he went to fast into a corner and hit the breaks and wondered why the ass end was 90deg to the kerb also tries to jump anything with a slight hump or incline (never am i in the car with him, and never do i let him sit behind me, i'll always let him pass just to save the ass end of my car getting totaled)

i swear he's the reason p platers have a bad rep

just let him think its a cool idea, because he sounds like a dumbass that wont listen anyway. Then when he actually puts them on the car get everyone of your mates to point and laugh

your mate seems like a ******** the way he drives, and does give p platers a bad name, but about the tires on the back being cool? people have there oppinions, he thinks its cool so MEH! just let him do it, there will always be people who will think it looks good but other who thinks he looks like a retard, i personally dont give a shit bout stockys on the back because i run 15's all way around.
but isnt the point of the car being yours own is to make it fit to your personality? and make it look how you want? just dont worry about him, if he thinks its kool he will get sick of the "coolness" of the 15's when the cops pull him over constantly... especially since his on his p's.... its all good but, atleast its not your car and it makes your car loook even hotter when its around his(not all people will think that)

If i was going to do burnouts i would just have 2 stockies in the boot or go 4 stockies and leave the rims at home.

PERSONALLY I think it can look good. Of course, the only reason you'd do it is for skid pans/drags/etc. to cruise with them is just arse.. And you can only get away with it if the car is dumped!

Perfect example is the old HOODVK. A picture I have from AGES ago:

I saw a VK fly past me in a 50 zone, he had black stockies on the rear and it was so lowered it must've been sitting on the axles. I reckon it can look good, but no way for driving!

Your mate is a f@#k knuckle...

People only do that for doing burnouts and skids and based on your description of his driving, it sounds to me like he needs to write his car off and hopefully himself in the process!!

I think that those who risk the lives of others on the road deserve to go headlong into a tree and pay the ultimate sacrifice for their pig headedness

Just so you are aware...if it's a 2wd it does not do any physical damage to the car.

yea he is a wanker when it comes to cars and driving but thats really it and don't worry im always quick to remind him that the things he does arn't always going to work for him, but what can you tell a youngin that hasn't had a serious accident yet, they think it's all fun and games, other then that he's alright just very misguided.

I recently smashed the rear end of my car, and I decided that a new diff was more important than a set of rims. So, I have borrowed a pair of stockies n put them on the back and left the 16s on the front. Guess what. I can drive my car, dont realy give 2 f#cks what it looks like cos I can drive it!!!

    quiet? whats that mean?

I know this ain't the same thing, but same principle..

When I had my old VK.. it rolled on 4 stock wheels and the factory hubcaps.. Rims/Stockies didn't phaze me.. went down a dirt road one day, and lost a hubby on a bump. it was a rear hubby..

Thought to myself, this is going to look complete arse, so I took the remaining rear hubcap off and sprayed the rims gloss black.. I never got pulled up with the cops cause I didn't drive it like a wank in public.. but my MOTHER got pulled up and defected in it because she was speeding.
