I was out with a few mates tonight looking at christmas lights.. My old lady rings me up to let me know that my old man had been in an accident..
Front end looked ****ed, but maybe nothing tooooo major.
Seriously guys, wet weather doesn't make commodores drift machines, don't be too ambitios, think of others on the roads and take it easy.. Especially around Christmas and New Years Eve periods.

will do, sorry to hear. was your old man drifting?
No. He was Pizza Delivering.. Had just done his last delivery, and was on his way home. The reason why I say commodores aren't drift machines.. The last couple of nights, I'd been getting pretty keen on getting the arse end out a few times.. but after seeing that, and the aftermath and shit of the other persons car.. it's kinda sunk in a little bit.
yeh, fair enough. wet weather is pretty deadly, hope it gets fixed up ok.

Minux, don't talk as if you've never been a "hoon" on the roads.
We have all done it, and majority of us will STILL do it.
With respect, not so.
There is a fundamental difference in 'manner' - between driving like a HOON which is carried out most everywhere, and 'driving at speed' - on roads so suited by construction category classification (Fwy).
One action has greater potential for disaster because it is done in all road categories and zones often without regard or fore-thought, and is often 'untidy' in look.
Manner and behaviour.
Freshly wet roads means having to keep your speed lower than normal, particularly knowing that certain rear wheel drives can 'pop the tail out' unexpectedly - when turning at an intersection or roundabout - even at low speeds, when the driver over-accelerates for the conditions, something that is otherwise fine when dry.
Vary your speed, safe speed is *not* a constant, and often has no bearing on allowable speed limits for the given road.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. Yeah, last night I was out just driving around with a few mates and another 3 car loads of mates.
The car in front went around the corner, span out 360. Than my mate thought he would be (cool) and put his foot down out of the corner he was sliding everywere.. at this time I just sat at the round-a-bout watching. Next minute he went straight into a gutter and up it. Scratching the shit out of it, and it doesnt help when he has compressd ultras in the car :P
Than the cops pulled up, though they were good cops and let us go. They only took our names, rego and did a licence check!
Yes be safe, hope your old man is alright.
Just on the hoon thing, i just wasn't interested in wheelies and s*** so i never did them.
I did however have the luxury of growing up with my grandparents 3000 acre farm up the road so i had some fun on atv's but on the road, it's putting yourself and others at risk not to mention your car too!
May sell the parents the VR if it's considered right off.
mate thats a write off chassis rail damage, i can see it now man, see how the wheel is on a angle??? i bet you the strut tower has been shifted inwards...
mine was written off with alot less damage (then fixed anyway)
pizza delivery is bad, i used to do it.. your on the roads soo much trying to do your job.. there are alot of idiots, one night i got run off the road and up onto a gutter because some stupid old lady cut out and did a u turn into the left lane (i was in the right lane) then without warning she pulled over into my lane failing to indicate,( i was also probbly in her blind spot) i held my horn and brake and to avoid a expensive panel collision ran up the gutter (turned into it to avoid damaging wheels.. this was before i had rims..)
even once i was on the gutter she didnt stop... got her plates and reported her to my local cop shop (over the road from my work)
i havnt driven my car in 4 days for this reason... im not driving in the wet, during christmas with bad rear tyres.. its just far too unsafe..
hope your old mans ok trent, i know what its like and anyone who says "stupid hoons" or crap like that remember its not F*&KING hard to get the rear end out accidently in a commodore, especially on stock tyres so some people should really think before they post... because wet roads that havnt been wet in a while are usually oily...
when your delivering pizza's your on a tight timeline.. its bad, sometimes you dont have the luxyary of doing 10km/h slower than the limit.. yes its a shit job because your on the roads with alot of people.. soo if your the kinda person who drives 2-3 times a week and goes "Im soo good because i havnt had a smash" its because some poeple drive 4-5x more than you..
you dont have to hoon to have a smash or loose control or even be accelerating hard or even going fast
I don't get wheelspin in my wagon anywhere but driving up the sloped staff carpark at my venue where I have to get the power down to get up the slope
Maybe I'm just too old or have lost too many friends to road accidents to have the urge to do anything that could risk my life or more importantly another road users life...
Off road on private property or under controlled conditions I have no problems with but there's no excuse for lighting up tyres on normal roads, just take off slowly....
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?
dude sorry to hear about dad in a car accient, hope he's Ok, i don't plain on driving in my Car, ie Not a C/dore at all during the wet weather at all, i left work this @ 2am when i finished work and just bet the hail and rain thank god, but be very careful if your plaining on Drving.
this may sound stupid but whats the big flame looking thing out the side of the car in the second pic
i was sortof thinking that but it looked really bright for that lol.
mate hit a roo in his skyline last night, doesnt matter how careful you are, sometimes shit just happens.
hope all is well
