A 17-year-old learner driver from the ACT was allegedly clocked at 203km/h on the Hume Highway at Bowning in New South Wales last night.
The Kambah teenager has been charged with dangerous driving, speeding and driving unsupervised.
He will face Yass Local Court on February 6 charged with driving at 120km/h over the learner's speed limit of 80km/h.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said the youth cannot legally drive in NSW, at least until his charges are dealt with.
But he can still legally drive in the ACT, a different jurisdiction, the policewoman said.
In the beginning God took 5 day to createHolden, on the 6th day he created
HSV and the 7th day he refined his work to create the R8 Clubsport.

heh, these are the kinds of kids you see splattered all over the news on the tv
dunno about life suspension, but a fair bit of education on VERY inexperienced drivers and high speed is in order![]()
umm, where was the licenced driver?
Personally these sort of people should be shot at birth before they take other peoples lives. They obviously dont give a **** about their own

Buggered if i know, some people have no idea whatsoever.
What car was he driving? That speed is crazy, I travel it roughly here on autobahn all the time and the cars and roads are designed for those speeds. He shouldnt be allowed behind the wheel of any vehicle ever again.
Once a Mercedes is up to cruising speed it lopes along easily and is happy sitting on 180+ km/h all day. Please check the speed limits in your area before attempting this…
got to agree with minux, kill them at birth, that way they can't kill you later on down the track.

It is that kids fault that my insurance is $1400 a year. The way I see it, he owes me and thousands of other drivers about $1000 a year. Not to mention to be beaten to death with an old tailshaft.

People like that should have a fist bag installed, if they go over the speed limit a fist flies out of the seat and up their arse.

but what if they like hard things going up their ass lol they might speed for pleasure. lol
johnny
would you speed then? lol
nah mate, i wouldnt but i bet there would be a couple of people out there lol![]()
I reckon the govt should bring in legislation like Sweden. Over a certain limit DUI is attempted murder and the same should apply for speed. Mandatory driver education with a minimum pass score should also be enforced on repeat offenders.
I know at least a dozen of my friends who have done that before. Not on their Ls though. You do dumb things when you are that age. Give his liscence back when he has grown up. We all make mistakes when we are young and stupid.
He was driving a pink vl turbo.
my m8 is almost as stupid he was on his red p's and got in a police chase tried to do a gone in 60secs into a driveway but they saw him lost his license for 5 years. but him bein the dumb guy he is decided to keep driving (in one of the only heavily modified rx8s in aus as well as an s15 silvia, FTO and wrx) and got caught again this time facin court and got 11 months weekend detention and lost his license til 2024. last i knew he bought a holden camira so he wouldnt grab the cops attention.
You know we live in a very sad world, where these f*ckers don't have a f*ckin clue of what they're doing and you know what the sad bit is - They either end up wrapped around some tree, end up killing somebody else or being let off from a light punishment most of the time and then more likely to offend again.
One of my mates was on his Ls and he was driving without a licensed driver at 12 o clock at night while under the influence. He tried to impress a female passenger in his passenger seat and floored the car on a strait bit of road, now i am unsure of how fast he was going when he hit the metal barrier on the train overpass, but he was going fast enough to leave an imprint of his car in the fence, Shatter his front bumper and crush the left hand side of his car (he said around 180km). He recently went to court and was given a 6 month disqualification from his Ls and a $800 fine (or 56 hours of community service), and with South Australia's new L and P Plate regression he will have to resit his Learners test again.
Why just repeat offenders? Driver education should be for EVERY driver, more so current drivers who got their license when all you had to do was drive the local cop around the block. I rekon everyone should have to pass a defensive driving course every year to keep their license. Of course the government would never pas such a thing, because 90% of their 'older' drivers would be off the road for good, both of my perents included
not dismissing what this kid did, but just remember all the young people who 'can' drive, such as the guys in drift comps (one guy doesn't even have a license, but would even show me up).

I agree about the driving course however, it should be subsidised by govt, so you pay $50 and the gov pays $50. I also think that between certain ages it should be required less, 18-25 Once every 3 years, 25-35 once every 2 years, 36 and over every year. Reflex studies have shown that after 35 they drop drastically.

Drift comps are just closed roads, sure its at the track, but the road is the same. all i was suggesting is, that someone with experience driving in a driftcomp could get a car to a stop with say a blown tyre at 100, however nana or grandpa on the way to get the paper on sunday would probably roll there smokey torana 15 times.
About the course, i stand by i think it should be every year, for every person. Alot can even change in a month, let alone a year, yet most people don't want to hand in their license.
