Anybody know anything about the ads on tele for this new Ford Ranger?
In the US the 'Ford Ranger' is the entry level pickup truck 4x4, but their plant that builds them is scheduled to close in 2008 and a new version of the truck with a new name is set to take its place...
So will this Ford Ranger be the same as the 4th generation Ranger in the States? This makes NO sense as it is an old car, only facelift changes since 1998. I also doubt the model due out late NEXT year in the States would be coming here this year.... And I doubt the popularity of a pickup truck such as the Ranger in Australia, with the F series being a more viable option in my opinion if Ford were to bring anything out here.
With the Ford Explorer not being renewed because its not selling due to the popularity of the Territory, could it be a larger 4wd to replace the explorer?
Its a replacement for the courier afaik.
Here's a link. Seems not the same as US built one but built in asia

Ah cheers man. Looks slightly similar to the US built version... Not what I was expecting though after the ads i've been seeing on tele... but then again it was always just gonna be a ford![]()

The Ford ranger as said is the new courier Ute. It's designed in Australia, built in Thailand and will be sold to over 50 countries in the world.
Ford Courier = Ranger and Mazda.
Different engine. The US Ranger carries a 4.0 V6 including the Mazda B4000
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
The US Ranger gets a bigger engine in 2008.. Considerably bigger I think, to go with its new name (whatever that may be) and new look... Will be a much bigger vehicle too.
I think this new Ranger and the Territory will be the only 4x4 vehicles Ford have for the Aus market... The Territory has already destroyed the Ford Explorer which is now basicly redundant. So theres not really any more room for another large 4x4 type vehicle in the Australian market by Ford.
