    I have power

it isnt just melbourne, it is STATEWIDE. The power grid went into load share mode, so certains ectors lost all power. The bushfires in gippsland took out a main feed between NSW and Vic. Not good.

My place didn't lose power but my parents didn't have any when I dropped my brother off from work. My dad also called and said the power was out at his work as well.

We lost power here at Narre for about 15 mins or so. It was out at Dandenong too. Thankfully, I'd finished work early (I also work at Dandenong) and got home through the traffic before the traffic lights died. It's chaos as it is coming home from work, even when the traffic lights are working.

Out in Doveton too, and Chelsea where I was working. Doveton's power came on as we came home from work (about 6:40pm). We took the back roads so we avoided all the traffic chaos

im on the other side of the country though i have helped a couple of customers today who were having the effects against their internet from this outage.

major pain in the ass it seems. good thing theres only what.... 5 sets of lights on my 50km trip home, so even if the entire city died i'd still be fine, the intersections i go though are wide open

I know its not funny, but pretty much a way of life in Adelaide now over the summer. If the inter-connector dies to Vic, we're screwed on the hot days. Damn state governments being tight wads over the years with building infrastructure.

I was just watching the late news and they were saying that the blackouts were due to a transformer being damaged by the bushfires, and that they've only solved the problem temporarily as they cant get to the transformer that was damaged. It will only be a steady source until the morning. They reckon there could be a repeat of it tomorrow and for a few more days in the next few weeks. Great.

Thankful for once it didn't hit us, usually when there's black outs Mill Park (in particular my house) seems to get hit and I'm stuck playing games on my phone until it dies 15 minutes later because I forgot to charge it

No power outage at my place, or on lygon (thank GOD!) - Lygon st = my home away from home

Was on the road when it happend, lots of lights out, but only some and only in certain areas (by only some I mean only one set of lights out of a whole bunch on one street would be out).

I'm trying to get everyone in the house to cut back on how much electricity we're using, with the amount of lights on, turning off the tv's when we're not watching them. Tonight of all nights someone decided to turn on all the downstairs lights, 3 tvs (when only 1 was being watched) and the air con I cracked it and they finally listend to me and turned them off (now here I am using the pc lol)

Just hope the firies can get the fires under control and that there are no more properties lost, and lets hope that there are no deaths, we can do without electricity for a few days... If not come to my place

    But wait... There's more!!

    But that's not all!!!

I was listening to that on the radio on my way home. The telling factor at my place was when I pressed the auto garage door button - up she went. I then went and did my bit for the situation by turning the air conditioner on

Was great fun coming home yesterday from work, talk about dodgem cars with no lights around some pretty busy areas, had an absolute ball, a/c up full blast, music cranking and not one ding on the car !!
