So mnay conflicting stories on this.
As usual the media (heraldsun,ch9 ch 7) is hyping it up and making it out to be the riders fault.![]()
As usual the police wont do **** and charged the rider.
Fair enough he gets charged for giving the bus driver a slap to the head, but now he has a majorly damaged bike which was deliberately run down.
East melbourne, south melbourne and police that work the city come down hard on bikes for some unknown reason. I myself was have been dealt with harshly by them. Left with me a 4g damage bill to my bike. It was a clear case of another person being at fault yet that was looked over. Now im stuck paying a 1g bill to some piece of ****![]()
In recent weeks there has been a few deaths involving riders due to lack of care by drivers. One being a P plater drifting around a corner then hit the rear of a rider. Yet as usual the police will crack down on riders instead of drivers who have NFI. I understand now why riders boot car doors in, smash the mirrors, not bothering to stop for police when the police are one eyed and drivers out there have their "lapses in concentration"

at an absilute guess, making a GENERAL comment WITHOUT knowing all the facts, it was prolly the bus drivers fault, they are ****wits. i had one pull out on me today, looked, indicated and pulled out, NO chance in hell he didnt see me, if there wasnt a bit strip in the middle of the 2 lanes, he would have gotton slammed and i would have been pissed.
if i was on my bike and he pulled out in front of me i would have given him the works too.
be interesting to see what comes of it
It ain't just the big cities with sub-human bus drivers....(although, oddly enough, in Brisbane recently when we had to use buses to get around for the day, I found some of the nicest, and most helpful bus drivers I have ever come across...)
Ever since they brought in that stupid "give way" rule about buses (when it has it's indicator on, you have to give way as it pulls out) has been abused and turned into "I can pull out whenever I like and you'd better get out of the damn road".
That is here in Bundy. They just pull straight out into traffic, and we have all had several close calls as they just start moving out towards you, and you hope that you can get out of the way in time. Try sitting in a Morris Minor and something that looks like a cliff wall approaches without a care in the world...![]()
But yeah...as for motorbikes, slapping off a mirror or kicking a door in is a great feeling after some guy has done his best to stop you getting home to your family, and it seems to wake up the idiots quite nicely......
Of course, (legal disclaimer) I have never ever done anything like that...![]()
I will admit that I gave a surprise to one business-suited yuppie wanker in a Mitsubishi 380 with huge chrome wheels. He turned around in front of me on a roaundabout, not indicating his left turn, and making me swerve towards the parked cars, just scraping through as I had nowhere else to go. He had his drivers window open, elbow on the window sill, and was chatting away on his mobile phone. I could have been a cement truck and he still wouldn;t have seen me. As we slowly went along, him still talking, and me trying to look for a space to get away from riding beside his drivers door, The red mist descended, and I simply reached out with my left hand and plucked the phone from his hand, chucking it across the parked cars into the traffic, and accelerated away from him as a gap opened up...![]()

If they smashed the windows and hit the guy and put the safety of the passengers at risk i think good on him.i laughed when i heard he dragged the bike down the road.
Dont start crap if you are going to cry after it falls to pieces.
If i was driving the bus it would have been more that his bike under the bus.F#CK EM.
I dont think much of bus drivers and the way some think they own the road, but they went too far and copped it.
People don't seem to give a **** because it was a motorcycle he "nudged" deliberately and pushed out of the way.
Imagine it was a small car he had cut off, who then thought "bugger him, I'll just sit here and wait for the traffic to move", and the bus driver "nudged" it deliberately and pushed it out of the way to get into the bus stop. Would people be outraged more then? I would bet my left one they would be!
I pay an frankly criminal amount of rego to have my bike on the road...I don't see why it shouldn't entitle me to a small smidgen of respect on the road...![]()
By the way that newspaper report reads, the bus driver is a lunatic and should have his licence taken from him and be made to pay for the bike repairs. Sounded like the passengers were more afraid of the way the bus driver drove than anything else.
omg i better keep it quiet that i am a bus driver, seems we are all tarred with the same brush and can't drive!? perhaps some of you should try driving a 40 foot vehicle for a day or so to see how frustrating it is getting round sharp corners, under trees, between illegally parked cars and looking after our passsengers all at the same time! there are good and bad in all types, so please dont say that all bus drivers are idiots! have a look next time you are on the road at the fools that cut in on not only buses but much heavier trucks etc without thinking how long it takes to stop some of these vehicles. Talking from experience, it is only when you have driven a heavy vehicle (i have 20 years exp.) that you realise how long they take to stop compared to a car. many people should not have their licence for some of the stupid acts they commit not only car drivers but truck and bus drivers too! we all like to think we are perfect drivers and all react differently to different situations so don't believe all you read in the newspapers. there is usually more to a story than is printed.
