Hey guys, just saw Rocky 6 last night - Premiere night (unless you saw an advance screening) Being the awesome Rocky fan that i am, it was a very small chance that i wouldn't like this movie, and i was not disappointed, far from it.
I would actually say this was the best movie since the original, with Rocky II being a close 3rd.
Even if you're not a boxing fan (which i'm not particularly) this is still an excellent movie. My girlfriend who hates boxing loves the Rocky series, so make sure you get the girls to come too. There are plenty of emotions and stuff for them to look at, while the men watch Rocky cop a beating.
The cinematography is interesting in this movie - the fight is shot as though it was a real fight, from pay per view perspective, rather than a movie fight as the other Rocky movies were.
And lol you can't half tell that Sly is still on the roids. No 60yr old should have veins coming out of their shoulders naturally...
Overall, i would give this a 9/10. Not perfect, still a great way to go out.
Now i'm just waiting for Rocky VII - Adrian's Revenge! (simpsons fans?)
Yea I though it was a great movie.
Look ma I'm going FAST.....
OH NO DAMN, insanly jelous herei loved the original rockys, still got them all on dvd to
oh well no golfing tomorrow im going to go see this movie.

also for rocky fans - the bloke who played Ivan Drago in Rocky IV was actually a student of the University of Sydney - he has a masters in chemistry. while at uni, he was a bouncer at a few of the clubs around Sydney. how awesome would it be to get kicked out of a club and get your ass kicked by Drago?!
Me: hey mate can i come in the club?
Drago: if you come in wearing those shoes, i will destroy you
Me: (tries to enter the club anyway)
Drago: I must break you (punches me in the face)
Me: (lies unconcious at the door of the club)
Drago: If he dies, he dies...
I can't wait to see this, I've heard of people downloading it and watching it on DVD and ripped onto computer and played through DivX, but I couldn't spoil this, I've watched ALL the trailers and youtube and I wasn't going to miss this at the cinema!
apparently the next rocky will have him in a wheelchair next to an oxygen bottle with grey hair and him repeating "i just gotta defend my title!"... when is this guy gunna give up... i do love the rocky movies but, just takin the piss, cant wait to see this new one
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
I can't believe that Stallone is THAT buff at Sixty, I mean man.. He is hale and hearty, I'm astounded by that health. He just keeps going, you gotta give him that at least.
that dolph lundgren dude who played ivan drago also put jean claude van damme on the ground while filming on of their movies together.
massive dude
Universal Soldier?

VT Calais II... The Italian Stallion
not sure if that was the real reason - but i did read that filming Rocky IV, stallone vs. lungdren - stallone wanted the fight scenes to be real, cuz in Rocky III they looked kinda dodgy. not quite sure what he was smoking, because no matter how ripped he was in Rocky IV, Drago was deadset double his size.
In the first round of filming, Stallone copped 2 broken ribs and a punctured lung, and he had to be flown back to LA at low altitude. apparently he nearly died.
In Rocky 6 he got knocked out while filming real scenes with Antonio Tarver, who is the former Light Heavyweight Champion of the world.
At least you can't say he doesn't put it all in to the role...
Some bastard at a party I went to on the weekend blurted out what happened in the movie; I felt like going Rocky on his ass.

E Series
Agreed. There is no way any man of that age has veins pulsating on his shoulders WITHOUT Roids.

I don't know how you guys can say this movie is great. I think it was ok, nothing special at all, the other Rocky's (excluding 5) shat all over it.
poooooooooooo
the original was definately better, and a lot of ways the same (i won't say too much, for the people who haven't seen it) but to say that Rocky V was better? No way!
This is the best since probably Rocky II, with the original still the best. It did kinda drag on a bit, but if you compare it to the original or all of them, its pretty much the same formula:
- Rocky retires after previous fight
- (Insert emotional trauma here)
- (Insert new challenge to Rocky's pride/lifestyle/wife/heart here)
- Rocky decides to fight one more fight
- (Insert montage here)
- Rocky does 1-armed push-ups
- The fight begins, with no-one giving Rocky even the smallest chance
- Rocky loses the first round, and proves the critics right
- (Insert montage of rounds 3-14, showing Rocky gradually making his way back into the fight)
- (Insert final round, which could go either way)
- (insert emotional and inspirational post fight speech)
And there is the formula for the perfect movie. the formula hasn't changed except in Rocky V, which is why it was not so good. Rocky Balboa is an awesome awesome movie
