Anyone here hit one before ?
I had my first experience with one last night on the freeway of all places !!!
Someone else had all of the bad luck infront of me and knocked skippy over, but I couldn't avoid hitting the carcass as I was changing lanes at the time I saw it and any swerving to avoid it would have sent me off the verge of the road... all I could do was hang on and hit it. Man did it thump when I hit it... I thought there goes my front end, bumper and sill panel.
Doing 110 on 2 wheels with the passenger side airborne wasn't much fun... but it was better than swerving and lossing it sideways on the median strip and rolling it.
Luckily I escaped unscathed with no damage thanks to the good ol 4wd Calais suspension !... But poor skippy!!!! he would have been a mess after I jumped over him... I saw the bloke that hit him parked further down the road as I was doing my Dukes of Hazzard 2 wheel airborne impersonation manuveour passed him. I think he was walking back to check it out...

my old man cliped one with his vs statesman, the whold side of the car looked like a crinkle cut chip!! the roo kept spinning and ###ed it bumper to bumper..
insurance didnt beleve him, even with the roo blood and fur stuck in the panels..
it was broke before i got it
worst i've done is flatten a ****ie, and because i tend to ' feel ' each wheel i felt the thump in my left leg for ages afterward was a group of three, two flew the last on kind of stood there on the narrow back sticks road, i wasn't going to swerve and i so it bit the bullet... or tire. was lucky it didn't go flat on me.
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
I haven't hit anything yet, but a friend of mine hit a roo at 80 and wrecked his bike

My old man hit one with his '72 XY Falcon at about 103 km/h quite a few years back now while we were driving through country Victoria about 2am on the way to South Australia. Keeping in mind these cars are built like tanks, he kept on driving for about 10 mins after the incident as it didnt feel like it did any damage at all till the car started to over heat and we pulled over. It didnt do alot of damage but it did enough and lucky for us it was on its way down from a jump otherwise it would have ended up in the back seat.
Dented the bonnet downwards, bent the bumper which in turn cracked the grille and busted up the radiator... Needless to say his old man wasnt happy when he got the phone call at that time of the morning to organise a mate of his to bring a tow truck to pull us in to town which was 100km out![]()

I got pretty lucky when i hit a little roo at about 90-100 missed all the lights and bent up the panel beneath the bumper in my old '91 lancer which i pulled off the front tyre and finished my trip then belted it back into shape with a rubber mallet and you could hardly see the evidence and the lill bugger kept going
Well as I'm always told:

I never hit one but I really can't imagine how scary it would be. I mean a kangaroo is quite a big animal!!
I hit a walaby going about 80km/h in a borrowed madaz 626 with the owner in the passenger seat, he screamed at me (calling my name just so I knew who I was) i did a 4wheel skid (from 100km/h) and hit just centre of the lh headlight. no major damage but pushed the radiator back onto the fan

I've hit plenty. The best one i've seen though was my old man in his xf ute with a stock crate on the back, got the roo on the hop clipped the top of the roo bar , over the windscreen, into the crate with two broken legs. It took a long time to get rid of all that dog meat.
Here's a couple that my mum and sister have done in the last couple of weeks.
Not a roo, but I remember as a kid coming home from Cowra to Sydney after visiting my nana during the early 80's when they were having the huge mouse plagues we came over a crest and it looked like the road was moving, but it was mice.
My brother and I were picking dead mice out from under the car for days!
Nearly hit a cow in my brothers ex cop VH 5litre at a great rate of knots round some twisty stuff, then consequently nearly rear ended by a gsxr, quite a few years ago.
Hit a pissy little ****atoo at 110kph out the north side of town in the SS, which totally obliterated the grille and broke the section beween the headlights on the top of the bumper.
That was annoying enough...Feathers are a bastard to get out of the radiator fins.
I cleaned up a galah the other morning and found it when i got to work.
LMFAO i had to think about it for ages, stupid censorship, then i realised it was a co ckatoo!
I hit a roo (750meters from my 200km destination according to TomTom), i got out of the car dreading the damage i was gonna see to my beloved VP, but all it did was break my wheel trim (you know the cheap plastic cover that goes over the stock steel rims!), man was i relieved. oh the roo just kept hopping, i watched it in my mirror before i stopped.
We had some family friends over from the UK and their 2 little girls were so excited at seeing a Roo. Unfortunately while driving the rental car down South, the first Roo they see jumped in front of them and got pretty hammered. Car was pretty trashed too
i hit them all the time and they do some damage to a semi. try hitting a 6ft tall one. wombats are pretty dangerous too. a mate had an owl go through his windscreen last week and it landed on the passenger seat.
a picture i found a while back.. not pretty

My old mans hit a seagul with the drivers side mirror doing about 110 in the old VT.
I've driven past a few cars who mustve just hit a roo on the way to see family/friends...
Even seen an accident at about 6am, horse mustve got onto the road, car hit it, horse fell onto the bonnet, into the windscreen and ended up on the roof... Was on the news later that night n the driver actually died
I've only hit what looked like a huge rat.. it was in the middle of the road and i tried to move over so it would pass under the car, but due to oncoming traffic had to go straight and then i felt that little bump under the wheel..
But wait... There's more!!
