Anyone have any idea what the cost of having a baby is in a public hospital? We have no health fund at all.
Any advice would be great.

Why not join a health fund paddyj?
Too late now, have to be joined for 12 months before you can claim for any pregnancy related stuff, unfortunately ha ha
If its your first kid you'll have to pay for the antinatal classes, which was about $100, although that was 3 and a half years ago.... what a hoot they were....

if you have a baby as a public patient in a public hospital it is all free!! if you have medical cover you will have to pay the gap which can be quite a few dollars, so best bet is just go in as a public patient and get it for nicks!! that's what we did twice.
Same here. We had twins so we even got a private room. Ante natal classes were free too. It was the IVF that cost the money.....
No tossing, sardines everyday for a year, still no joy so building them up didn't work. So now I'll toss as often as I want, and thats how we got pregnant anyway. I'm living proof that sex doesn't cause it. A magazine and a cup is all you need.
play dude and a cup that makes babies oh ive been misled, as long as you enjoy your long times alone looking at magazines.

alright, alright....let's keep it clean and within context of this thread....
My point is sex doesn't always lead to pregnancy. I went through 12 months of trying, then 2 IVF cycles to produce my girls. Nothing lonely about it. It was something I had to do to get the desired result - children. We also have 8 frozen so if we want to go again, it's only a matter of a microwave and a turkey baster, no more cups and magazines.
One thing I will say though, take munchie food to your partner when she is in hospital as the food portions are not enough to keep a feeding mother going. But then my wife was feeding two so she was a bottomless pit. Anything to suppliment the hospital food, she will love you for it.
lol funny posts.
Thanks for all the advice thats great to hear. We have been trying for two years so yes sex doesn't always end in pregnancy like they tell you in school ha ha

It seems pregnancy occurs more commonly when its unplanned or unexpected.
Maybe Murphy's Law applies in this field too....
Congratulations to all expecting a child soon, my two kids are the best things that has ever happened in my life.
