hey guys ive got a VS clubby 96 and i have clocked up 150,000k's n i just had a mate tell me that my hsv chip will shut down the car will run as normal though just without the hsv enhanced chip is this true? any info appreciated

i would think not
the ECU would indeed have two modes, Normal and Limp Home mode.
Limp home is a failsafe to prevent extreme engine damage ( or try to help prevent it... i honestly dont know how it works exactly! )
but yeah, you can do 5km or 500,000 and its all the same to the ecu.

i think i know what he was tryin to tell me i was just on the HSV website its says on that the car has to have less then 150,000kms on the clock to be a Classic HSV with no other modifications im already past that stage, cheers for the help anyways he's always tryin to pull my leg
