Yes. It sh*ts me too. I have a charged 6, and so many tossers laugh at and say all the 'get an 8' blah blah blah. But it's worth going along with it, just to see their faces when you blow them away. They have no idea how much better a super 6 is compared to the V8. Well, I guess it all comes down to a matter of opinion, but I'd have a super 6 over an 8.

I'm talking stock for stock by the way....

I can totally understand where you boys/girls are coming from.

It would piss you off - although most of those saying that **** wouldn't know the ****in difference anyway!

I have a lot of admiration for the S/C sixes - even though i don't own one.

Just curios as to how a super6 is better than an 8????

lol, i like seeing super6's well behind me when they think they are the be all and end all. Much prefer my LS1 Each to their own i guess.

Well, an LS1 is different. I'd just about kill for one of those, but I mean just a charged six and a 5 litre V8. Taken into account though I've only driven one 5 litre and that was in a VT as well. It just didn't quite have it like the XU6 does. I just find it nicer to drive than a VT V8.

When I was driving the XU6 to work, I had a lot of clubby etc pull up beside me and want a go. They take one look at and think 1. It's a mock up, and 2. Its a chick driving. So it's quite funny seeing their faces at the next set of lights...

But mind you, I might also have a little bit of a biased response.

Im not saying better either, but with some small work done they can certainly hold their own against them.

Yeh, it's all fine and dandy till you see the price of intercooling, or worse yet, whippling

Sticking with the m90, nope, none that I know of that exceed 300rwkw, but there are some that come close. A member on a differant forum (L67Torque) ran against a 6ltr the other day, recorded a victory for the sc boys.

I want to get the XU6 on the dyno after it's had the service it's been dying for. I'm curious as to what it would get. I think it's got a few extras from stock though.

I'd have to agree with JD there, ya can't beat the sound of a V8! Altho I only have 6's, but when I find a cheap 253, 308 I'll get it to put in our VH convertible.

Brother had a 253 bored out to house 308 pistons in his old vh. Sounded very nice.

As long as your happy with your car then that's all that matters.
Don't get dragged into the "c'mon lets have a drag and prove it" crap.
    For the record i'd go: 1. LS1 2. 304 3. super 6 but that's just me.

I just get sick of wankers, who always have something to prove, no matter how many cylinders their car has.

Who cares if you have 4, 6, 8 cylinders etc there will always be someone faster.

In saying that though alot of these morons, with Skylines, Silvias etc need to pull the stick out of their ass, and realise that their fulli sik GTS-T wont beat every SS, with exhaust around. It is possible to force feed a V8 too.

I love V8s, but alot of 4s and 6s deserve respect, but that doesn't mean V8s are completely eclipsed by them.

Tho I drive a 6 which I hope to be raptor charged by the end of the year, I have to say theres no beating a V8. I think 5.0L are generally overrated, and I rape my best mates stock VS SS offline and take him top end pretty easy too. But when his exhaust and extractors go on, it might be a different story.

An LS1 and onwards are a different story though, just an edit will have them making a mockery of modified super 6's. At the end of the day... An 8 is always going to be better than a 4 or 6 cylinder. You can modify a 4 or 6 all you want, but put the same mods on a 5.7 or 6.0L and you'll be walking away with your tail between your legs.

If I was 21 I would be driving a V8, but for insurance reasons I cant really afford it, also I cant afford the fuel. While you can drive a V8 economically, I dont see the point. Why have a car with 300kw's and drive it like a grandma? Whats the point? If I spent all that money making it go fast, i'd be making the most of it.

But as said, there are some very quick turbo 4's and I have no choice but to have to respect certain cars because their performance demands it. WRX's, GTR Skylines and twin turbo Supra's are not something to laugh at. The same goes for modified turbo and supercharged V6's. From the factory, most V8's are nothing special either.

Each to there own i say, v8's have it all over the 6 for exhaust note but you just cant beat the whine of blown 6. I understand why you would be sick of hearing people going on why bother get an 8 but some people are just to one eyed to give respect where its deserved.

I just think that most people dont realise what supercharged 6's actually go like. A few people have said to me, why supercharge a six? You won't get much power gain. You'll only use more fuel.

The other thing that makes me lean more towards the supercharged, is that every man and his dog seems to have an 8. Although I have noticed that super 6's are getting more and more popular lately.
