    Lightbulb Massive power outage

Anyone else affected by this last night (23/03/07)??

It started at about 9.30PM and went untill about 4 AM...

ALL Lights were out around Carlton, North/West Melb, and I don't know where else.

Traffic lights were completely out (No flashing amber), which made getting across bigger intersections like playing russian roulette.

Called the power company but they didn't know what was goin on (typical).

Just wondering if anyone else in other suburbs were affected by it, or if anyone knows the cause of the blackout.

It was pretty cool seeing a place thats usually constantly bright as day like it was last night... (Even the 7-11's power was out!!!) haha

Worst thing was by the end of the night, my mobile battery was flat, my home phones need power (Stupid new technology crap lol) so there was no way I could make any calls if something was to happen... So I was left in the dark.... so to speak lol

    But wait... There's more!!

    But that's not all!!!

Hmmm... Must have just been my area and surroundsing suburbs...

I don't really care personally about the power going out... What i was worried about were the traffic lights!

There were 2 accidents on my street a litte further up at two seperate intersections, n thats just what I saw, I'm sure there were more.

Everything is back to normal now though.

And its amazing to see how much friendlier people are when somethin like that happends

    But wait... There's more!!

I'm in charge of one of Melb's tram depots. last night was chaos. Vic Market ( and heaps of other intersection) lights were out....bloody madness for the tram drivers. Also, the rain stuffed up heaps of the trams braking systems. Like I said: chaos!

no power outage at sunshine, went out around 10 and the power was on... was at ringroad macca's and there power was on. went to crown and also had power..... so as you can tell i had no idea there was a power outage... but i did see 2 smashes. one had his whole back door wraped around a pole. and the other was like he didnt see the guy in his brind spot..... traction is such a problem when it rains like last night when your driving a manual au and a vn...
