DONT GO BOB JANE (branded tyres) !!!!!!!!!! my 18s at the front are bob jane (branded tyres) and they are CRAP! no traction in the wet and bad grip pattern not giving very much hold not to mention my front drivers side magically deflates!!!!
Bob Jane damaged my chrome lock nuts and took my car for 35km drive (i checked my trip meter b4 and after) prob juss the place I went but I wasnt impressed AT ALL with the afor mentioned points~

i run those MAXXIS and love them no complaints from me.
I have the Falken's, think I paid around $240ea for 235/35/19's. They are great!! Also used the Fulda's and there not to bad for the coin.
Selling FG G6E Turbo and buying a N/A Supra
i'd go maxxis if your budget is realitivly low, they are a great tyre.
if you got the dosh go the pirelli's p zero nero's they are the best on the market.
We got rep back, yaaay!
I got the Maxxis MA Z1 Directionals today for $249.00 each - BOB JANE wanted $515 for k103 yokohama but they recommened the maxxis said they proformed good if not better than the dunlop sports.

Not wanli!! lol
I got them atm caus they came with the rims dirt cheap..
N they are cheap n nasty..
Traction under throttle in the wet is like butter, braking not so bad...
Other than that, they stole the pattern of yokohama n got sued and its common for the tyre walls to crack caus their a shiat rubber..
I was told the Maxxis Mazi are a great tyre for the money!
Im running Full Runs, and they're not that great. Good grip in the dry, and they're lasting well, but noisey on some surfaces and they have no grip in the wet.
yep alberton's a very good store, i used to work at marion that why i was curious.
We got rep back, yaaay!
Where do these companies get the idea that cheap quality tyres perform just as good as high quality tyres?
Pirelli, Dunlop SP 3000A and MAxx, some yokohamas all outperform falkens maxxis Sava's etc. I have tried and tested a HUGE range of differing tyres(due to having a good friend who owns a beaurepaires) nothing beats quality and quality when it comes to tyres is costly. Try doing a track day with Maxxis you will be horrified.
Sorry if that post sounds bitchy, i just hate when tyre companies(or distributors) lie out their ass and claim cheap tyres out perform high end tyres.
They do that to get their stores GP up. If they make more profit from a certain tyre the sales person wants you to go for that tyre even telling the customer lies. The good thing about Beaurepairs we don't do that but with other tyre companies/stores I wouldn't be suprised if they say SPT products are crap so they have an easy sale.

Yep, its sad, selling an inferior product that could ultimately mean the difference between life and death. Could sales man really sell a cheap product to an unknowing Father who has his kids in the car? I think he could simply because these days people do not care about other people when it comes to $$$
The just did a story on ACA about tyres, comparing the cheaper brands to the quality aussie made tyres. In the wet the aussie tyres owned, taking several metres less to pull up the car than the cheap rubbish tyres. I guess you get what you paid for!

I enjoy reading independent tyre tests because Dunlops and Good Years are up there as the best tyres and people still swear by they are **** tyres.
From Wheels tyre test 2006

Wheels Test 2006 proves the maxxis is good value , not the most expensive but the best in the wet,top 4 in the dry tho performing bad in dry braking and dry conditions
over all the maxxis MA Z1 finished 3rd behind the dunlops and good years which are alot more expensive from $225 for maxxis for a 17" to $285 for the dunlops and $290 for the pirellis.
Thanks Maniac for the upload of wheels mag!
