FIVE Sydney teenagers allegedly recorded the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl on a mobile phone and "gloated" about it by sending the footage to students at a Catholic high school.

Details of the horrific attack were revealed in Parramatta Children's Court yesterday where two of the teenagers faced charges of aggravated sexual assault in company.

The court heard that the 17-year-old victim had no recollection of the alleged rape or being dumped on the front door of her home minus her underpants after the assault.

She was found the next morning by her mother.

Police allege the victim only became aware of the alleged rape when shown footage of the recorded attack four days after the January 9 assault.

Police prosecutor Graham Wedge told the court the five teenagers were "gloating" about the alleged rape by sending the footage to students at the girl's former Catholic high school last month.

"They were gloating in relation to their triumph ..." Mr Wedge said.

The five were arrested after teachers at the school became aware of the footage.

The details of the alleged attack were revealed during bail applications by two of the alleged attackers, both aged 17.

One of the teenagers who faced court was accused of recording the alleged attack on his mobile phone and later sending it via Bluetooth to friends - including students at the victim's former Catholic high school in Sydney's southwest.

The court heard the teenager had earlier agreed to meet with one of the accused - who was a friend of hers - and was taken to a house in Green Valley.

While at the house, a group of seven males and the teenager allegedly "played card games and consumed alcohol".

The girl told police she drank four drinks in "quick succession before becoming very drunk".

Police prosecutor Graham Wedge said the victim as in a "drunken stupor".

"At some time during the night, the complainant was taken to a bedroom where she was placed on the bed.

One of the young persons pushed up the complainant's denim skirt and removed her underpants," a statement of alleged facts tendered to the court said.

One of the accused, a 17-year-old labourer from Green Valley, allegedly began having sex with the semi-conscience teenager.

Yesterday he sat sobbing in the dock, while, outside the court, his grandfather abused media and his mother told reporters to "just go to f..king hell".

During the alleged assault, a second teenager - a Year 12 high school student - "got his mobile phone and began to record this using the phone's video recorder".

While the first teenager was allegedly raping the victim, a second "climbed on to the complainant's face" before allegedly forcing her to perform a sex act.

"The victim could be seen on the video recording trying to push (the accused teenagers) away and trying to get up from the bed," the statement said.

Police allege up to five other males were watching the alleged assault and could be heard on the footage encouraging each other and laughing.

One of the accused allegedly broke wind on the girl's face before saying: "Get that into ya".

He is then seen on the footage "high fiving" another co-accused before slapping the victim.

Four days after the alleged rape, the offender accused of recording the attack called the victim and invited her out again.

She was allegedly taken to a house in Austral and shown the recording.

Mr Wedge told the court the teenager did not report the assault "out of fear" and had allegedly been harassed by the accused.

The court heard the police were notified after teachers at the victim's former Catholic high school became aware of the footage.

Magistrate Antony Townsden yesterday refused both teenagers bail and remanded them into custody until May 31.

Three other teenagers are expected to face court today.

The teenagers face up to 20 years jail if convicted.

These guys deserve more than 20 years, they deserve to be put to sleep in the most inhumane way possible. It is disgusting that at this age people can commit such horrendous crimes.

Although i agree with you saying they should be put to sleep, I reckon they should be locked up first in the worst prison in australia where they will get raped themselves. That way they will understand what it was like for the girl (although she was pretty much out of it) and they can be some massive dudes bitch for a couple of years and see how they like it.

just think of what their parents would think of them. i know if my son did that i would totally disown him, wouldnt provide any finacial support during the trial, would not welcome him in my house and wouldnt speak with him forever. i would also encourage the rest of my family to do the same.

It's times like these I wish we could use Aboriginal punishment. For rapists and child rapists there pen1s is burnt and sealed at the end and a hole on the top that way when they pee it's goes all over them.

I think they should put them in jail with the rest of the population, remove their ability to ever have another hard on through the use of surgery that way they can never rape anyone again.

i think you'll find that gang rapes have been happening for quite sometime all over the world, and that they are not something "this generation" has invented. they certainly get more attention nowadays and people at younger ages are learning their rights and reporting these things. Gang rapes are in some countries treated differently to we treat tehm here, as more people from those countries move to Australia we are certainly more likely to see these people assume they behave this way here.
Take for example Geoff Clark, ATSIC leader and Aboriginal spokesperson. Led a gang-rape 20something years ago and has just been found guilty. certainly not someone of this generation.

The fitting punishment for this crime should be first up “Castration” while the girl and her parents and their own parent watch on.

Secondly why do we protect this low life scum by segregating them from the general population while in jail they don’t deserve to be protected from Bubba and his penis wheeling mates, it would them good to actually feel what the girl had to and as we know the prison doesn’t issue Vaseline to Bubba and his buddies.

This is an open and shut case. They were stupid enough to film themselves in the act and then torment the victim with the footage. Had they had any remorse they would have instantly deleted the footage not passed it around.

In cases where rape is a he said she said situation the court can make the wrong decision (guilty people get let off and not-guilty people go to jail) but you'd have to be a complete tool to mess this case up.

Locking them up with all the other criminals for a good stretch will show the rest of the country this will not be accepted.

I'm going to be controversial here and say that while what they did was wrong, what the hell was the girl doing in a house with seven other guys. Then she got drunk. Does she live on another planet? If it was at a party where there were guys and girls and they homed in on her, then yes, string them up, but she wasn't dragged into the house by her hair. Who is to say that her version was correct? They have footage sure, but it wasn't until it was shown around and she was no doubt humiliated that the rape was alleged.
After reading about the boy who spent 12 months behind bars after being falsely accused of rape by a girl I think all investigations should be completed before charges are laid. These guys should be punished yes, but to what extent? How willing was this girl in the first place? It's too easy to say you got drunk and had no recollection, just another way to get back at these guys for humiliating her.

ever need a hand you know my email, 2 things i hate the most in this world and can not stand is seeing/hearing about a guy hitting and/or raping a chick... i can watch somebody die infront of me or get cut open and im fine but this makes me sick to my stomach and ashamed to be a male sometimes(i know that sounds weird)......
