mp3 to head unit

i got this posted in the audio thread as well but i figure this area is more popular and i would like to no as soon as possible
i have a pioneer head unit deh p6850mp i wanted to hook up ma mo3 player to it but it isnt working got all the rite cables n stuff just cant get it to work any1 no how to do it and i have lost the manual so could sum1 either tell me how to do it or where i can get a manual online
