Just went to wash my car at the car wash (we are in stage 4 water restrictions here on Phillip Island) and I couldn't beleive how many boats were there!!!! Waited in line for 10 minutes, didn't move at all so I left. It makes me a little angry that I go to a CAR wash to wash my CAR, yet it is overrun with boatsI know they have to wash the salt off etc but they take so long. Why can't there be a car only lane

Anyway, that's my little rant for today. I'l be heading back to the car wash once the tourists have finally gone home![]()

I wish I owned a car wash, they would be making a killing with the water restrictions. I went past my local one last night around midnight and all the bays were full. I used to always go to the car wash at night to beat the queues but that doesnt work anymore.
Speaking of water restrictions I am soo over them, I pay for it I use it albeit in very small quantities in comparison to leaky pipes, burst water mains etc.
Where are these water police? From what I've heard all they do is go after neighbours complaints, given we've had the same neighbours for 20 plus and get along well we are really going to dob in each other aren't we. I'm sure there are many many people like that, just going for a ride around the neighbourhood you see masses of people breaking the rules, they really are enforcing the rules here that's for sure!
I think it's fair to say it won't be long before they start saying you can only use the car washing places on certain days if at all.
Here in Queensland we are on level 5, its coem to the point where water saving taps and shower heads have had to be installed in houses if you havent already got them. We had to get a pool cover for our pool aswell.
I will admit im guilty of breaking the law once every couple months when i drive my car into the backyard and give it a good scrub, but i still try and use as little water as possible when i do this.
The car wash places are getting pathetic but the thing is the government cant put restrictions on car washes because they are not allowed to "rob" businesses of customers. But still why should i pay someone to wash my car when i can do it myself using the same amount or less water then they do.
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
I usually wash my car at home . We have a rain water tank and i just hook the pressure washer up to it and give it a wash on the front lawn . The last time i done it i had a visit from the water police , i Had to show them that i was using tank water. They were ok with it , they just said they had recieved a few calls and had to follow it up
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
After the "hogs hair" brushes at my local car wash left swirls over the paint work on my last car I have vowed not to use them again. I still wash it in the back yard (less frequently though) under the trickle of a hose which uses far less water than filling multiple buckets..... You count how long it takes to fill a bucket vs rinsing down a car with a trickling hose. It doesn't add up. Am now looking into finding a hi pressure portable that takes water from a container instead of the tap.....
Yeah we are in Level 4 Restrictions here, however i am guilty of washing my car once a week in the driveway. I use water from a bucket in the shower, and just spray it with the hose after im done. In all honesty, i use hardly any water at my house so i think im entitled to wash my car. Plus...i have to park under a tree at home and it gets covered in bird ****. Cant ruin the paint now can i?
i went to a drive through automatic car wash today cos all the bays were full.. they are crap. that is all.
oh and a note to everyone, get yourself a high pressure washer.. they use way less water than a regular hose nozzle.
What annoys me is you have people taking 30 minutes or longer in a shower every single morning whereas in my case for arguments sake I take 10 minutes tops, times that over a week and it adds up to a huge amount of difference so if I spend 20 - 30 minutes every week or 2 big deal.
I almost had a shower with my car!!! Well outside when it was like 35 degrees outside, I only had my undies on. I was just sharing my love with the car, oh..... good times eh. Oh and I used the car shampoo on me too!!!! yay..
Damn my gf didn't join in.
