Busy car wash
Just went to wash my car at the car wash (we are in stage 4 water restrictions here on Phillip Island) and I couldn't beleive how many boats were there!!!! Waited in line for 10 minutes, didn't move at all so I left. It makes me a little angry that I go to a CAR wash to wash my CAR, yet it is overrun with boats I know they have to wash the salt off etc but they take so long. Why can't there be a car only lane
Anyway, that's my little rant for today. I'l be heading back to the car wash once the tourists have finally gone home
ps. Did anyone come down here for the easter weekend??

I wish I owned a car wash, they would be making a killing with the water restrictions. I went past my local one last night around midnight and all the bays were full. I used to always go to the car wash at night to beat the queues but that doesnt work anymore.

Yeah I usually go at night, but everyone seems to be catching onto that as you said

Speaking of water restrictions I am soo over them, I pay for it I use it albeit in very small quantities in comparison to leaky pipes, burst water mains etc.
Where are these water police? From what I've heard all they do is go after neighbours complaints, given we've had the same neighbours for 20 plus and get along well we are really going to dob in each other aren't we. I'm sure there are many many people like that, just going for a ride around the neighbourhood you see masses of people breaking the rules, they really are enforcing the rules here that's for sure!
I think it's fair to say it won't be long before they start saying you can only use the car washing places on certain days if at all.

Here in Queensland we are on level 5, its coem to the point where water saving taps and shower heads have had to be installed in houses if you havent already got them. We had to get a pool cover for our pool aswell.
I will admit im guilty of breaking the law once every couple months when i drive my car into the backyard and give it a good scrub, but i still try and use as little water as possible when i do this.
The car wash places are getting pathetic but the thing is the government cant put restrictions on car washes because they are not allowed to "rob" businesses of customers. But still why should i pay someone to wash my car when i can do it myself using the same amount or less water then they do.

Yeah its getting worse and worse. I think there should be a system where every household is allocated a certain amount of water, and you can do whatever you like with it....I know that I would be happy to go without a shower one day a week if it meant I could wash my car

Couldn't agree more! I have also found the water they use at our car wash is dirty and leaves a merky residue..

I usually wash my car at home . We have a rain water tank and i just hook the pressure washer up to it and give it a wash on the front lawn . The last time i done it i had a visit from the water police , i Had to show them that i was using tank water. They were ok with it , they just said they had recieved a few calls and had to follow it up

After the "hogs hair" brushes at my local car wash left swirls over the paint work on my last car I have vowed not to use them again. I still wash it in the back yard (less frequently though) under the trickle of a hose which uses far less water than filling multiple buckets..... You count how long it takes to fill a bucket vs rinsing down a car with a trickling hose. It doesn't add up. Am now looking into finding a hi pressure portable that takes water from a container instead of the tap.....

Yeah we are in Level 4 Restrictions here, however i am guilty of washing my car once a week in the driveway. I use water from a bucket in the shower, and just spray it with the hose after im done. In all honesty, i use hardly any water at my house so i think im entitled to wash my car. Plus...i have to park under a tree at home and it gets covered in bird ****. Cant ruin the paint now can i?
