If I had that sort of money I would pay it. That car is a legend. I wish I never smashed my XW GT.

Depends on when he bought it. I paid $11 000 for a 1987 XF in 1991.

i should add, his is original from the show room floor and has spent its entire life in a shed under covers until Ford asked to use it as a display, not one bit of restoration apart from the odd polish etc

XY/XW GTHOs are my favourite car, from the Ford stable, but man over 600K?

I guess it's a piece of Aussie motoring history, but too much money. IMO

Those are the one car Ford have ever made that turns my head

    But wait... There's more!!

the last xy gtho to be sold went for only 250k (lol only) and i think that was only early last year or could have been late the year before, but still from 250 - 680k is a big jump, also i believe an XA GT went for 100k.

anyone know what the XW's, XB's, XA's have been selling for?

There is an XB GT for sale on Ebay in the US at the moment for $6k. Sounds a bit dodgy to me though.

thats pretty astonishing seeing as a guy i went to tafe with...also an apprentice at the time paid $18000 FOR WAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A XYGT replica but when he got home his brother ran the numbers...how does a genuine XY GT sound for that price in 2003???so for a $18000 investment hes made $665000...not bad for a 19 yr old aprrentice painter at the time...bloody greeks and their fords...

Well, my fiances mums new partner is looking to sell his Phase 3, Ford made an opening offer of 1 million even, the car is unrestored and looks brand new off the showroom floor. A private buyer has made an offer of 1.1 million to counter Fords.

If anyone wishes to view this car it can be seen at the Ford discovery centre in Geelong. It may not be there much longer.
