Well... I don't know what to say...

I was inside (about 4 doors down) I heard a massive bang and an alarm going off... I thought to myself "someones not gonna be happy"... And guess what... the someone wasnt happy....
But I have full comp insurance, the truck driver has full insurance and has admitted fault to myself and the police so...

In one of the pictures, im not sure if its just the way the car is parked or how you took the photo, but it looks like the parcel shelf and everything is uneven. That looks nasty.
Dunno if it will be a write off or not, just lucky it didnt hit the front then you may have been a little more trouble.
Good thing the truck driver stopped and everything...Wouldve made you somewhat unhappier.
The only thing that I can see is the rear 1/4 panel is up against the back door. The car body has moved about 4mm maybe 5mm. If that comes out ok it should be repairable. But it's guna cost a bit to fix. All comes down to how much they cost to replace nowdays.

Holy F*ckin sh*t!!
Thats massive....
I recon it would be a fine like between it being a write of and a repair...
I recon the deciding factor is gonna be if the C-Pillar sustained much damage..
Caus from what i see there from below the boot the car is fine so its mainly panel damage and not chassis
Good luck with it!
Luck you weren't in the car! That would have caused some severe wicklash and neck trauma!
how big was the truck?

It was a mack truck... Pretty damn big... But it was thr trailer that hit my car (I think)...
I'm hopings its NOT repairable... as much as I love that car... If they fix it.. It will never feel the same to me...
I'd rather get a pay out and go find myself another vt 2 or vx calais... I just hope I'm happy with the pay out...
We'll see what happends but yeah.. either way I'm without a car for a fair bit... stuffed when it comes to getting to uni.... I dunno... Im kind of in a state of shock at the moment so..

Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
God must love stupid people, He made so many.

The cops got me to move it when they came

write off bud.
once its does structual damage like that it starts gettin expensive.
youll find the wheel well will be bent
rear aurter will need replacing
will need to go on a rack to pull the bottom half section out.
also the left hand side will be out aswell from the impact.
new parcel shelf.
new roof rear pillar mounts.
easy $7,000.
which well exceeds the 75% value of a car to be written off.
Oh.. as for the parcel shelf... I didnt pay much attention to it.. but I think it looks like that because the road is kind of on an angle so it might look crooked...
Also... my cd stacker along with my 10 cds are... well.... there was nothing left of it as u can see...

How much would I get for it??
My uncles VS, they gave him 7,000 about a year and a half ago and it was a stock exec...
Im hoping for at least 13,000 for it.... I know im asking a bit much but...
Also, rear drivers door wont open... but i think thats coz of the rear quarter panel...
The tow truck guy reckons its gonna be a fine line between being repaired or not.. he thought it could be... but I'd rather a pay out I think..

Ughh....so sorry man.....It's never a good thing when a truck and a car meet, never....Dont let anybody try and give you that silver lining crap either, if she was your baby, she'll never be replaced, no matter what you buy next. You will learn to love another so to speak, but it is differant, belive me. Best of luck with the insurance, and I hope they dont screw you over.
my vn was in a prang 6 months after i got my licence a guy in a VL side swipped me.
was heart breaking as she was a mint 5spd with low ks
got paid out but didnt think it was worth fixing so i done a bodgy n replaced the bare nesessaties drove it around for a further 6 months sold it to my best mate and he just recently wrote it off
Do you know how much she is insured for?
I know where your comming from with the prefering a pay out because it just wont feel the same. If there is structural damage it will never feel like the same car.
