Triple J One Night Stand

Hey guys, just sending out a msg to encourage anyone in the central west NSW, Sydney, ACT etc to head out to Cowra this Friday (20th) for the One Night Stand.
Here in Cowra we won the gig this year and are hosting Silverchair, Behind Crimson Eyes, Midnight Juggernauts, The Funktrust and Lithgow band Flatline Drama, as well as local act Leap Of Faith.
This gig will go off, as its free, we're expecting 20,000 plus ppl to hit town as it's a one off that rarely happens out this way. The whole town's made a huge effort to host this gig and everyone got behind it, which payed off as we were eventual winners.
Triple J staff will also be around, as it's being filmed for J-TV and also broadcasting the show live on the radio from the Footy ground.
This is a great chance to see some top Aussie acts, I'm a little pissed cos i can't knock off work early, but yeah should be awesome.
So yeah if your not too far away get your arses into town. Cheers.

Last year, my home town of Port Pirie hosted the One Night Stand in SA. it was a f***ing brilliant night, we pulled huge crowds (which is rare for our town) and it was just a blast. i encourage everyone to get behind this event, and all the hard work that organizers put in will pay off on the night. Pirie loved the night, Cowra and surrounds, do the same, and enjoy it!!!

i will have no chance of getting there (work, parents etc) this year, but post pics up guys and have a bloody good time!!!

Yeah it was wicked here last year. A lot better then I thought...and I just can't believe the amount of 'out-of-towners' that swamped Pirie for the night. I think our small city's population doubled for the event haha :lol: A lot of wierd people as well. :P

I've even got one or 2 pics that I took that night....might have to post them up if I can find them.

That venue u had looks pretty big, i think cos urs is an afl field n ours is a rugby league ground. Drove past today, stage gettin all setup, she looks pretty massive.
I reckon majority of crowd will be from outa town, cos the neighbouring towns all put in signatures to support us, plus all their local bus lines r bringing people over for free.
Im guessin cos its an alcohol free event shouldnt be amny dramas, did u guys have any trouble last year with ppl fightin n ****?
Just hope the pub stays open bit longer to make up for lost beer time...

Not sure about any fights or anything, but I know a few people got passed security with alcohol. My cousin and her fiance went for a look, and he wanted to have one or 2 drinks, so he filled a baby bottle up with jacks and put it with the rest of the bottles in the pram.....they only went down for a look tho, didn't stay very long coz they had bubs in the pram.
