black metal
Just wondering, do any of you metalheads know of any decent black metal bands here in Vic/Aus?
Any venues play any underground stuff around Melbourne?

As far as clubs etc go, Deviate is usually pretty good usually some good live bands, much like Switch. They play mostly heavy metal but they sometimes play a bit of black metal. Not really underground stuff though. Usually somewhat mainstream black metal like Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon etc.
Try to avoid Next/Bang. Full of emos.

DragonForce play on the 15th of May (Over 18s, Under18s is the 16th) at the Hi Fi Bar on Swanston Street in the city. There might be tickets still available at http://thehifi.com.au/display_show_d...9&eventid=1796
Umm other bands im into... my favourite Viking Metal bands are Thyrfing and Amon Amarth. I love scandanavian metal, whether it be Death, Black or Viking.

you have to check out Finntroll or Trollfest. Or even Rusich,Temnozor Nokturnal Mortum, Folkearth or some of the Eastern European pagan acts

Yeah im a fan of Finntroll and Nokturnal Mortum, hard to find their stuff around here though. Metal Mayhem usually has some, but they can be very pricey.

....if you only knew how little some of this stuff costs wholesale. especially the bands like Nokturnal Mortum and all the other Eastern European bands. Many of them barely ilk out an existence on what they make from their music.
