End of the Line for the WRX?
Is the 2008 WRX the end of the WRX legend? I honestly cannot see it surviving much further when it looks as horrible as it does... And the STi version is going to need ALOT of improvements to compete the with the Evo..

People always have harsh criticisms about cars when they are first released. Hell people een said the VE looked ****. Bet they have changed their minds now they have seen them in the flesh and have had the time to appreciate them
The bug-eyed rex was said to be as hideous as I bet everyone will say this is. But people still bought them and now they are 'normal'

tbh, the late 90's where the highlight of the WRX... I will say in all fairness too, I do like the current one, but for some time, the EVO has had it all over the Rex, and I don't think this is a step in the right direction... It has lost it's uniqueness, much like the VE, this new Rex looks like a Camry platform with the nose from the Aristo and the sides and arse from Ford...

i saw that to, and a hyundai from the back. i know previous rexy's wernt that attractive but atleast they looked aggressive and looked like they would bite your head off, this looks like it would try and eat you finger with a knife and fork, dont like it

Considering that the hatch is much lighter then previous models...it gave me a fair kick in the pants over the 07 STi
I would now say that the 08 WRX is as fast as the 07 STi but without the cool features that came with the STi like a 6spd over the 5spd, Switch operated cooling water jets for the intercooler and DCCD plus handling. But as for straight line, the 07 STi lost to the 08 WRX and the 08 STi was just !_WOW_!

I still stand by my criticisms about the VE. Everytime i see one i cringe, then i see them with the racing stripes and i just shake my head.
But that seems to be the trend with new cars nowadays. Looks like subaru are just following trends.
I think the VE is o.k. but I don't think it is as much of a jump from the vs to the vt.
This car looks like a korean car which is sad, the WRX has a good history of a low price, high performance car.
I can't believe the guy talking about the thing isn't just hitting it with a hammer (people who watch top gear will know what I am talking about)

the WRX is available in Hatch or sedan and the STI is only available in Hatch...at least thats how it is here inthe US.
