i was wondering if a particular somebody was a member of this website. this somebody thought it was funny/cool to cut 2 metres in front of my semi and hit the brakes hard while having his d#ckhead mate hanging out the rear passenger window waving and carrying on. it was a white vr/vs sedan on the great western highway around mt druitt thursday a week ago (after easter) at about 9:15pm. doing 80km/hr you left me no room to pull up and i didn't even have enough time to check my mirrors. all i could do was glance out the corner of my eye to make sure there was no lights there so i could swing around you. can i just say that if there had been lights there i would have not gone around you, i would have gone through you and i can say with confidence your friend hanging out the window with no seatbelt would very much be dead and you would be seriously injured if not dead yourself.

Couple people from the NSW chapter got together thurs night at aqua golf and bout 9pm the cops rolled into KK's at penrith and all the cars there high tailed it outta the car park.. was funny to watch, looked like a scene from fast and furious.. idiots!! Have to add that of the 5 of us that met up there wasnt a white commy between us tho.. hope you catch the w***ers... maybe you shoulda run up there bum??

then there's ACA on tonight which i reckon will be biased as hell against truck drivers. some reporter there probably had a close call with one and writes a story against ALL of us.

ACA, today tonight they change their tune quicker than I can change my underwear. Watched Today tonight the other day one story was about dumping of Navy waste and the same footage they used for that they also used for sea lions attacking just changed the music. They are as respected as the poor sod who cleans chewy from under the seats at maccas.

Hey bangers, I sympathise with your predicament. However what excuse can you possibly offer for my story in your own thread 'you shouldn't be on the road' I know a lot car drivers are worse. However, if one of you guys hits something....

I used to work in smash repairs on Trucks, Buses etc, and I remember an Aerodyne Kenworth coming in one day.I asked why, as it looked in good condition, and was told a car pulled in front of this truck (that was towing doubles), he hit the car, rooted it,and killed the silly mole driving it. The damage to the the truck? A slight bend in the bullbar........

I have seen many people almost getting killed or have near fatal incidents with large trucks almost every day. Not kidding.

The only thing that annoys me is when trucks try to bully me and try to make me speed I don't slow down I just keep driving the same legal speed if I brake I know i'd end up like the one hillerus mentioned. Also nearly been killed twice by trucks merging on top of me evasive action saved my life. Now I'm always careful around trucks. But what you mentioned above is completely different.

You will find most truck speedos are 100% accurate, simply so law abiding companies can travel at the max legal speed, if a truck catches you on the highway, merge intot he bike lane slow down and give him a little room, you lose 5 seconds, the poor bastard in the truck can lose hours because of someones speedo reading 5km/h out.

People have no courtesy these days.

but some of (not saying you would be one of them) do some things to us car drivers too.
like me i drive a lot from highlands along m5 and i have been ran off the road, more times then i can count. and one day i will snap and follow them.
i have some mates that drive trucks and they are good blokes but when you get some tools that do that to you you get...........
but i know where your coming from. drive a 10t one every now and then and when your got a load on it it hates pulling up.

Mate I work in Brisbanes' truck central I pass more trucks on the way to work than you use litres of fuel I'm sure All jokes aside I'm talking about in the city and if he has to travel two suburbs and I'm on a one lane street with no where to go doing two kays over the limit how am I doing wrong?

While its been said a million times before, if the average car driver was to step into a truck for a day, I think the attitude towards trucks and the driving around them would improve out of sight. As I work on them for a living I know that I attempt to be more courteous towards them as I have an understanding of how a truck works, and a very basic understanding of what a driver has to deal with.

Some people cant handle 5 gears, yet these blokes steer 26 metre B-Doubles with an 18 speed non synchro gearbox around complete wankers like the one mentioned.

If trucks's speedo's are very accurate the the truckies should know that we motorist do not have that accuracy and therefore should slow down and understand that we may be traveling with our needles pointing to the correct speed, even the actual speed may differ.

But there is no reasont for a them to go up to some's arse and get pissed.

Drivers complain of speedos because they always want at least a dollar 3 on them.

I agree though, if more people stepped into a truck for a day even as a passenger alertness to them would be alot greater. I can't remember how many times i almost went over the top of people because they thought the 200 metre gap i had was a perfect chance to beat me to a red light. Just wish people would realise how hard it is to stop a 68 tonne 26 metre B-Double.

Im talking more on the highway in 100 zones etc. All im saying is if you feel you are being overpowered by an asshole driver or sometimes even a courteous one why not just give him room when you have the chance and let him by? Same goes for other cars, its not like it will kill people to let speeding drivers past, besides you may just get a laugh when they speed past you and past a camera and get a nice big flash.

I drive a truck, and can see where bangers and minux and all people who drive trucks are coming from.
I am currently working on the calder hwy bypass near bendigo and the amount of idiots who have cut me off without warning beggers belief.
As said before, people who drive cars and don't drive trucks honestly have no idea how long it takes for trucks to pull up.
I'd love it if everyone could get the chance to do what we do, then have a better understanding of trucks on the road.
