interesting stats for xmas and easter break
http://www.atsb.gov.au/road/road_fat.../holidays.aspx
does lowering speed limit really save lives?
does double demerit points save lives?
does taking your car for hoon offences save lives?
im still a firm beliver road education is the only way to save lives
indeed, I beleive there would still be same road tolls if there was no such thing as a speed limit if only people were trained properly, people who don't know how to drive properly or aren't educated correctly is the reason why the road tolls are still high.
exactly....
my belief is,because there are so many new road laws,a minority of people see how long they can get away with it,they think of it as a challenge.i don't know about over your way,but it's tourists that are killed over here (not always-but a higher percentage, i think)especially american tourists with rent a cars, they end up forgetting, and revert back to their driving habits, which we all know, is as we say even about their own country..drive on the wrong side of the road.
also it's the human race we are talking about![]()
haha i like that.
But yeah i agree with you all. New road rules dont serve a great purpose. I think darons point about double demerit points is good too. I cant see how that would save lives. I would have to say that alot of people that lose their license on points would be young, and alot of young people dont really learn anything from that. I know people who have lost their license on points and just still driven around anyway.
I know it would make some people more carefull on the road, but i reckon that people that normally speed or whatever are still gonna do it over the holidays when double points apply.
just my opinion anyway
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people
the way i read it, according to those stats we (victoria) should have our road laws/speed cameras set up the way they were in easter of 99 or xmas of 2000/01.
surely this proves that speed cameras aren't the ultimate solution they make them out to be.
