I will be in talks with a Holden recovery specialist within the next month, so I hope to ask many questions like the the one have asked. Holden have cars in lots of places. One car I do know of is a purple GTO that was at Birdwood Museum (now in a WA museum) was given to the Chev club for show/display at Chevy events. The car was a gift and has about 8kms on the clock.

Holden have cars in most museums around the country and from time to time get moved around.

When the 6 millionth Holden was in the spot light the 1 millionth Holden was worked on for a week to get in running order for display. The EJ brakes had locked and the radiator hose came off in the mechanics had along with the themostate housing. So some Holden people have access to a stash of parts to fix up the display cars when needed.

SO Holden dont save any cars to make money on later. The money is in making 500 units a day and selling 500 units a day full stop. All the things they do with the display cars is all about PR only.

Hope to have some better stories to tell later.

to the best of my knowledge all holden have left of all their vehicles is their "proto-types" they ...like everyone else, may of heard, may keep or donate 1 out of their special vehicles selection.
but i believe they rely on people like us,that keep their cars in mint factory condition,or restore an original, then for special events they may offer you a phenonimal price to buy it back
