When holden makes limited edition cars do they keep one or 2 them selfs? like to sell in the future to make more money . its just a question I've always wanted to know.
i have always thought that they do but only for historical purposes and i don't think they would ever sell them but if they did it would be to a museum
We got rep back, yaaay!
From what i was led to beleive, Holden have a warehouse with the parts (note not together) of 2 of every model of every commodore they every made.

Holden have cars in most museums around the country and from time to time get moved around.
When the 6 millionth Holden was in the spot light the 1 millionth Holden was worked on for a week to get in running order for display. The EJ brakes had locked and the radiator hose came off in the mechanics had along with the themostate housing. So some Holden people have access to a stash of parts to fix up the display cars when needed.
SO Holden dont save any cars to make money on later. The money is in making 500 units a day and selling 500 units a day full stop. All the things they do with the display cars is all about PR only.
Hope to have some better stories to tell later.

but i believe they rely on people like us,that keep their cars in mint factory condition,or restore an original, then for special events they may offer you a phenonimal price to buy it back
