As the title and under my name suggests, I went for a Sunday drive here in Germany. I didnt beleive it when told they actually limit your cars here. I drove a distance of 200km in 1hr 15min. Before anyone says anything about the figures, there was parts on the journey where slowing down was necessary, like when not on the Autobahn Duh! The car held 230kph (speed limiter) for most of the trip without breaking a sweat. I been told removing the limiter is a serious crime here, but some cars I have seen fly past us when we sit on 200kph.
Just wondering what anyone from out west, (as im east coast in Oz when home) where there are no speed restrictions on certain areas of roads, gets up to. Also how comfortable and safe they feel driving at those speeds.
I need to try driving an Opel here as well.
Once a Mercedes is up to cruising speed it lopes along easily and is happy sitting on 180+ km/h all day. Please check the speed limits in your area before attempting this…
I think the last of the limitless roads were posted with 130s weren't they? And all other implied limits are 100.
I may or may not have topped my VP out at 200, and if I did, it certainly didn't feel safe![]()

*these were performed on a private road under controlled conditions*
I love my car like a child...and because it costs as much too!!...Just like the real thing![]()

RAPTOR CHARGED 330RWKW VU SS UTE IF IT DOSNT BLOW IT SUCKS
i've had the calais to 210 no worries and could have gone a fair bit more i recon, was only sitting just under 3750rpm and clicked into top gear at around 190 and was all smooth sailing from there, still felt reasonably safe. on the auto barn i would say it could sit on 220km/h quite easially... might have to try it out one day.

Slowed the **** down cause the road surface began to change up ahead, so i thought i would be wise to slow down to the speed limit and not push my luck.
But what i have been told with cars over in Europe (Germany espically with the AutoBahn) all cars have governors on them, but each car has a different speed govern, a Lambo might be restricted to 300 Ks whereas you car is 220. Not 100% sure though.
Had my VH cruising at 180k's smooth as.....that had a 173 5 spd in it with a 3.08 diff....was only bout 4000rpm in 5th.....when I put the 3.36 diff in I got to about 160 in 5th at the same revs.
