PC Upgrade

Im looking at getting a new motherboard one that has the ability to give me 2gb ram as the one i have only let me get 1gb. I would like to keep most of the other stuff i have already just a new mobo, power supply and maybe a soundcard. Could someone perhaps have a look and see what mobo etc woul be compatible with what i have atm.


K this is what i have already.

CPU Type - AMD Athlon 64, 2400 MHz (12 x 200) 3700+

Motherboard - ASRock K8 Combo-Z (3 PCI, 1 AGP, 5 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)

Motherboard Chipset - ULi/ALi M1689, AMD Hammer

System Memory - 1024 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)

Video Adapter - NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS (256 MB)

Audio Adapter - ULi/ALi M5455 AC'97 Audio Controller

Power Supply - Eagle 350w

Also sometimes when i boot up my PC when i comes timne for it to select the drive it xomes up with,

Primary - None
Secondary - None

Then sometimes it comes up with my hard-drive model in the primary. Could that be a loose cable??? Its a pink spiral one like a pigs tail.

If you're primary and secondary don't appear most likely your IDE or sata controller.

What type of hard drive do you have? IDE or SATA?

If you don't know write down the brand and the model number written on top of it?

Sometimes mine won't find my second hd either. I have to go to install new hardware and then it finds it. Mine are IDE. Doesn't worry me though, getting a new system next week.
