Whats your phobia ¿

Ok, so most of us have some sort of phobia, whether it be spiders ,snakes or the like .But how many of you have unusual phobias . My family have the usual ones like wife and daughter scared of spiders , son scared of a comb , ( he must be cos i have never seen him use one ) but i have a very strange one and up until my birthday last year only my family new of it .
Last year at work they decided to have a supprise party for me.The office girls came in early and decked out my office with streamers, balloons and cake etc .
When i walked into the office at 7.00a.m they were all hiding and yelled out "Happy Birthday ". Well i just froze , i could feel myself starting to sweat and i just turned around and walked out . My supervisor came out and asked what was wrong . I said mate ,this is really embarrasing , but i am $hit scared of balloons . Yep my phobia is balloons . Ever since i can recall , me and balloons just don't get on . Maybe in a previous life i was abducted by one or something . Even when i walk through a shopping mall i get a bit nervous when a little kid is walking towards me holding a balloon .
So don't be shy ,does anyone else have a strange phobia ? And before anyone asks , i am fine with condoms

Well, I'm scared of spiders even the tiniest one freaks me out, once had that little bugger near the instrument cluster while I was driving and lucky didn't cause an accident!! (I have a can of Mortein spray in my boot just in case the worst happen lol) YES I'm serious.

The weird phobia I have is fingernails!! Just can't stand them, I always trim my nails every second day, If I see a finger nail some where I then start to feel a bit uncomfortable. Lol yeah I'm a weird guy lol....

not sure if this i classed but when i drive past a cop car (on comming) i always keep checking my rear view to see if they have turned around until they are out of site.
im just paroinid that they will turn around and pull me over even thought i drove past doing nothing wrong and knowing my car isnt being a hazorad or dangrous.

Mine is being the centre of attention. In person I'm a quiet lad that doesn't say much, and I keep to myself a lot.

Some of the things include speaking to a group of people, performing of some sort to a group of people, even standing in a group of people.

The only time I have been the centre of attention and it hasn't worried me was at the burnout comp we had here last November. To start with I was friggen nervous as hell, but after a while it didn't bother me one bit....I was too worried bout getting another tyre on the back and going to line up again haha.

not the biggets fan of dieing and hights can effect me sometimes... depending on what the conditions are, ie, balancing on a wire across 2 buildings at 1000ft would sacre me.. hahah

I still do that even when I'm driving Mum's VX, and I'm a fully licenced driver now so no plates....but I still check haha.

i dont know if this is counted as weird, but i HATE needles, if someone was to rob me with a needle i would hand over my cash or run like crazy.... if it was a knife thats when i would be a big man about it and probably end up stabbed or beating up a someone badly...... even when im walking and i see one, i move as far away from it as possible and get a **** feeling inside....

these are my 2 phobias, strange ones realy, the first is fear of dying, yet i love fast cars, and doing stupid stuff in them, not to mention im a smoker, and drink every other day of the week, unfit, unhealthy diet, its soert of a im sh!t scared of it, but not till its gonna happen. and the second, is darkness, yet i go camping all the time, dont worry me, im not scared of the dark, just scared of sleeping in the dark, i have to have a light on, cant get to sleep otherwise, strange i know.

actually i forgot about hights, im scared of them.
i am petrified of hights which are not guarded by safty devices, im fine on any rollercoasters buildings or object which i know is safe.

story starts a few years back when i was out walking with 2 other mates, we were heading to a quarry near by and had to climb a cliff to get to where we thought it was.
while climbing it at about 15 meters up a mate grabed a rock and it gave way and pulled out, he fell landing on rocks down the bottom of the cliff. he landed feet down so he only damaged his legs, he broke his foot on the right and cut his knee open so bad that i saw his complete knee cap (no bullsh*t) the cut went all the way though his tendons and mucles and was about 8inchs wide from one side of the knee to the other.
i tryed scrambling down to him but slipped and just only got my footing before droping of a ledge, i froze on the cliff and had to gather myself before getting down to him. few hours until we were located and he was airlifted out.

so now when i go near a unguarded edge with no safty features i freeze and am really hesitant to get near the edge, but with a bit of mind over mater i will slowly move towards it

Mate im **** SCARED of needles. Everyone asks me how i can be scared of needles when i have 6 peircings on my face, and a tattoo.

im in a way scared of heights, i have a slight condition where i will pass out when im up at heights.

also i hate ( not really scared ) of spiders, i almost died when i was 5 of a spider bite.

Frekin bloody CANE TOADS the site of one almost makes me hurl ever since i was about 2. When i lived in cairns that was great fun bloody toads everywhre.

Falling is my biggest fright, even from a couple of meters, being airborne just doesnt appeal to me.

im not so worried about heights, i do get uneasy at any height if i dont feel sure footed, but something like bungee or sky diving, i don't know if i could bring myself to do it.

Im with padrickz88 and Grennan. Always hated needles. Even when they are not near me. I have to get a mate to top up my printer cartridge. I dont go to doctors just in case they want to give me one.

I have three main phobias, in no particular order:

- Spiders
- Sharp objects (needles, knives, etc)
- Guns

A particularly funny story about my phobia of guns is this:

One afternoon, back when i was still in Rocky and still had a job, i was on the bus coming back from work. There was this shady looking guy a few seats up from me. Anyway, he started pulling this shiny object out of his pocket that at first looked like a gun. I was going, "oh no, oh no, oh no", getting ready to do whatever i had to do to alert everyone else. You know what it was that he had? A bloody mobile phone :lol:

Can't stand them. I reckon if one comes and gives me a hard time in front of a audience for a laugh, I'd clock him. Not looking forward to when the young fella grows up and wants clowns.

Not sure if this is a phobia, but I can't stand eating chips with my fingers. It really bugs me, sometimes so much that I resort to using a spoon.

It's not so much a phobia, but I hate feeling constrained, like if someone's standing in my way and I have no way to go around them, I start to feel trapped. Same with driving, I can't stand being behind people no matter how fast they're going. I'm not claustrophobic, small spaces don't worry me.

My wife hates clowns too.

Heights would have to be my thing. Low heights like a roof or a tree don't worry me, but if I'm up high on something small, like a cherry picker, I get a queezy feeling in my stomach. The initial take off in a plane does it too. If I'm looking out the window, only until we get high enough that the houses and stuff look small.

I don't know if this counts as a phobia but I hate being in a car with a driver that doesn't brake until they are 2m from where they want to stop. I push both my feet into the floor like I'm braking.
