yeah ive gone through a lot of cars in the past years, but one car i regret selling was my 99 s2 vt.
i spent many a weekend pampering it washing it vaccume etc. i never let it see a shopping centre car park locked it up in the garage all the time and would take it personal if a bug hit the windscreen.
when i bought it off my dad there was a few plastics broken on the interior as per ussuall i changed every broken clip the map pockets etc basically the car was mint.
so anyway to the point all the cars ive sold i dont give a **** about but i saw my old vt today near bunnings and it was in a 3 car pile up whole front end was smashed up and it looked neglected i drove past about 3 times to see it, all the doors where dented and scratched up it looked like a neglected pile of crap.
just made me really angry for some reason thats all.
on a lighter note the same day i see my old white commy smashed up i have always pined to have another mint white commy.
i signed on the dotted line to a mint 2003 vy berlina with 29 thousand kms one the clock single owner dual climate controll etc
have my VL for sale. Have farted around half-heartedly saying i'll sell it for years, i really don't need it and don't have room for it but i'm already sad at the thought of the day it sells!
can't say I know how you're feeling, I've never sold a car (only owned the one I have now) but about 9 years ago my dad and I saw an old company car we had, merc 380 se and it was in much worse condiiton than when we had it, but not smashed, just trolley dents etc. having said that, I do go ape**** when I find a new dent/scratch. it might be a POS but it's mine

Im going to be the same way in two years time when it comes for me to sell my car and upgrade to a Clubsport. It may not be the greatest car in the world but its my first car, Ive always washed it, vacuumed it and i love it to peices.
To be honest i dont know if i will have the heart to sell it, i may just keep it or sell it to my little brother or something, atleast i know where it is.
Buti do see what you mean, youve spent so much care and have given that car so much to see it just treated like **** pretty much.
my 1990 vns2
it's broken down that many times i cant remember
it's been covered in brake fluid, it looks like crap, there is that much rust in the roof now it's not funny, front bar is broken, back bar is broken. it walks on the road, more oil leaks than you can poke a stick at. but yet, i still refuse to part company with it, it's now in the yard at my parents house under the banner of "it will come in handy one day" i mean for crying out loud i dont drive it, but i went and covered it up during the week of rain we had here so the floor wouldnt get wet, figure that out.
i am the god of britany spears womanizer on just dance on the wii
there's tears in my eyes
After a good number of years without a car (after being bankrupt) I bought myself a 1984 VH SLX 253. Long story short: it was supposed to be sold to my wife's mechanic, but he renegged and five years later (much to my wife's disgust) it still sits in my garage..
One day I'll......
This VN was the donour car for the 91 sedan I have. I took all the good bits out as the paint was a bit grubby. Now it's totaled. AND the sedan with good paint i had kept has rust around the back window - the wrecked car had no rust around the back window at all. Now it's in 3 main bits. Hit a tree at around 80kms. 4 people in the car. One was smashed up bad - but the 18 y o driver only had minor scratches.
Wish I'd kept it now as I didn't get all that much for it but it was complete with all the bits swapped from my car in it.
RIP 89 VN

it was my 91 EB fairmont 5spd, this was my first bought daily driver, i put it into a wall at 120km/h! and it only got scratches, also got reversed through a wall and only copped a little ding on the back and a shattered windscreen (from a brick hitting it) it was one tough beast!
also spruced it up a bit with 17's, s.low lovelles, converted it to a 5spd, CAI, full system exhaust and tuned.
just with that setup itself made the car a little weapon, i literally used to go through windy tight roads and try loose it...never happened, just to give an idea i was able to come up to 90deg corners (like the ones at intersections) at 80km/h and take them with only the ass end stepping out a bit it was amazing how well it gripped the road and i was told that countless times by plenty of people who also couldn't believe it.......i miss that car so bad im even looking at buying another eb (if i can't get my grandmas) or even an ed xr6.
I hated the car while i had it but now it's gone (it's been gone for over a year now) i miss it greatly it's like somethings just not right. bloke who bought it is chucking an 8 in it and last i heard he was actually really getting into it so hope it all goes well for him....only cuz i get to take it for a spin once it's done![]()

I still have an attachment to my old VN (AJ)
Bought it for $200 and kept it for a year, but the things I did with and in it were the best things about it. I probably threw $3,000 at it to get it running right but only managed to get $1,800 when it went.
The best and most reliable car I ever had even though it had 220,000km on the clock. Never missed a beat and just kept going
I have seen it driving around twice since I sold it (snif) and would buy it back if I could
I should note here that the VN wagon has been up for sale 3 times in it's life and escaped each time.
18 years later it just cant be sold now. If it stops it gets fixed - thats all there is too it.

Had lots of nice/fast cars and many have been different. Some of the more notable ones were the LX SS hatch, VK Director, LH (fitted with a 350), V8 FJ40 Landcruiser, Bridgeport 13B RX-5, Extendport 13B RX-3, VP GTS, VXII SS, VYII SS, VE SS-V (Current)
Can't say I have ever got attached to any to a point that I have regretted getting rid/loosing them. For ages their life span was measured in months but these days it is around 2 years.

I miss Christine, my old LJ GTR.....
Oh well, the current car(s)'ll do....![]()
i sold my VL last saturday... i miss it already
was driving down to mums on tuesday and saw a VL waiting to turn right onto the road i was on and i thought oo that's a pretty sweet looking..hang on a minute..that's my baby! i got so excited seeing her! then all sad remembering i will never get to drive her againi couldn't even be there when they drove off, thought i might cry... *sniff* best car i ever had..
well my vn is my first car and the only car ive ever had. i got her about 3-4 years ago and i cant honestly see me driving anything else. now i must say, it hasnt got a very good paint job as the paint on the roof and boot has come off and is starting aswell on the bonnet. just about all my mates say " why dont u get a new car" and "and wats the point modding a car like that?" but i dont really care cause the VN is more mecanically sound than any of their cars and i would trust my car to do a trip around australia any day of the week.... but yeah my vn isnt the newest car in the world and may look like a bucket of s**t, but it is my baby and there is no way i can ever see myself ever letting her go![]()
i know where your all comeing from first was a VR II berlina. sold it the guy totaled it 3 times but said he like it so fixed it 3 times WTF didnt mind seeing that going, but then i got my next car 1991 TOYOTA SOARER LIMITED man i loved that car, active suspension (push a button gets harder or softer), touch screen, 32 valve quad cam v8, only problem with it was the speed limiter could only do 180 before it kicked inalmost.....no did shed a tear when she drove out the drive

i think that a car is a part of who you are and when you sell it its like a part of you is gone..
im about to purchase a VS clubsport and the thought of selling my VP (which is my first car) makes me feel rather depressed........hence why i am happy i have a monster lock up garage with enough space for me to put it up on stands and strip her down and work on her over a few years properley..........ill sell the clubby before i sell the VP.........at least i can take the time to save cash and get the VP how i want it over a good few year period and take my time........i have located all the perfect places to get panel work, engine work etc etc done now its just a matter of buying this clubby and saving cash for the VP
i waved good bye when my vs drove down the road with out me, i certainly dont miss the rattles, all the parts breaking etc, with out selling that i wouldnt have stepped up to the vz
