    Default blue obsession

What is it with this obsession with blue LED's ? First there was those annoying
windscreen washers , then blue parkers , then blue numberplate lights and now theres these stupid blue LED's on exhaust tips that light up when you hit the brakes .Makes me want to attack tham with a hammer .
And while i'm on a roll why do some people have to have their fog / driving lights on 24/7 ? There , now i feel better

i do it only because im lazy and keep mine swiched on auto, and plus it gives extra light(fogs) at night. so punish me for wanting to see better and thank yourself that I have fogs on instead of h/beams....because it's not illegal to use them if you can't see to well.

tyre onse look ok, only coz it leaves the circle when goin fast haha.

What pisses me off more is people who dont put the yellow indicator bulbs in when they get aftermarket tailights, had a civic infront of me last night, i was seeing spots coz it was blinking soo bright.

Read up the ADR's, it clearly defines what colours are acceptable on vehicles, anything that isn't mentioned you can safely assume is illegal.

as for driving lights etc, my commy ones were auto if the headlights were on (but if you really wanted them off they would switch off). I generally have my lights on all the time anyway. habit i guess, i figure it's one more way people will see you coming then its one more way to be safe. perhaps i should have a volvo lol

Mate of mine has a blue interior light, he keeps threatening to get those blasted blue led windscreen washers as well, thankfully he's too lazy. To give you an idea of how twisted this boy really is, he also wants to get chrome spinners, mainly because it would piss people off. I told him if he got them, I'd weld them solid.

The people that put 100 / 130 watt globes in their foggies and drive with them on 24/7 are the ones i hate . I have 130 watt globes in mine but i hardly use them.

As far as headlights and parkers are concerned the ADR's state that they can ONLY emit yellow or white light. So whether its blue or red or green or purple its illegal. An you can ONLY have orange for indicators, white for reverse, red for tail lights and brakes and reflectors.

So its not a case of you cant have this colour and this colour, its a case of you can ONLY HAVE these colours according to the ADR's.

there's a ute lives just up the road from me, VZ thunder, VE orange paint (one of those test cars) can't pick the rims but they're hot and has blue underbody neons... actually looks really good. driven by a mid-late 30's guy. ps, I hate that colour - it's the new tiga mica
and a VX berlina across the road, white with as-yet unpainted vy clubby kit (surprising it looks ok) and it has those blue washer jets and blue led m3 mirrors. it's annoying coz our street is dark so all ya see is 4 blue leds floating along

They were actually sold in that colour as part of the range, pretty much the last hurrah of the VZ utes as the VE's were being produced at the same time.

To answer the end of Dylans post. You can only have Red lights facing rearwards.

And having a look through my ADR book, totally random to the topic, but legally to have a roll cage, it must be 150mm rear of the front seats, and the rear seatbelts etc taken out (and obviously no rear passengers)

All i have in my car are the standard door lights changed to green ones, and a green LED globe in the interior light.

On the driving lights side of things, i drive with mine on, to make people aware of my car. If it confuses them enough that they hesitate for an extra second and they don't pull out in front of me, its worth it. Theres just something that brings a tear to your eye seeing a 1 in 300 car sitting in a wrecking yard (i know, cause i saw one before i bought mine)

its funny, i have stock lights on mine [ took off the spot lights because one was blown and the other melted the plastic to the point where there was no difference in light with it on or off. ] and i fine that people pay more attention when i have them off, go figure.

i would of thought a commodore coming up with his lows on would of been message enough to get out of my way but apparently not. people just stick in their lane when i try to pass. if i have my lights off, they shift out of my way real quick. stupid really because if someone even so much as looks like they want to get past me i make it my priority to move out of their way and let them though, guess im just more considerate.

as for the blue parkers, im against those but im fine with blue interiors, footwell lights are good, can see the floor at night so you can be sure your not stepping on anything at any point.
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.

as far as i'm aware it is illegal to have them on all the time. if there's no fog they aren't meant to be on. it's also illegal to have those little driving lights on, that all the commies have, with your low beam. if you have to have either on then wire them to your high beam so they turn off when you dim your lights. i'm a truck driver and fog lights sh*t me to tears!!!!!!!!!!!!
