Andrew Johns busted with Eccy tablet in London:
Johns caught with ecstasy - leaguehq.com.au
Apparently someone "slipped it into his pocket". Sure Andrew. I have known this guy was a drug head for some time...but I am unable to go into details. Lets just say he pays off whoever finds out so they won't go to the media. This time, he is screwed.
how is he screwed? it says he gets to return home wiht a warning....
I mean Career-wise. At least I hope he is screwed. I'm sick of the Daily Telegraph swinging from his nuts. They think he is God.
Yeah i hate when celebrities get away with stuff like that. The average bloke would have gotten charged with possession of drugs in no time flat.
Like when the footy players get a warning the first time they are caught taking drugs. They should loose their job just like everyone else would. If they are gonna be portrayed as role models, they should be copping full punishment for their wrong doings and setting an example for the consequences of drugs, not showing that getting caught once doesnt matter.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people
Sucked in to him I say.
Not only the Telegraph, but everyone seems to think he's God.
I hope he gets what he deserves...
best part of his career is over ne way. buy yea nice excuse "someone put it in my pocket' haha
Meh, I never really liked him, maybe because I'm not a Knights or Blues supporter...who knows...![]()
oh come on guys... it's for his neckhaha
but really... who cares... seems all the celebs and whatever are cokeheads and whatever these days... it's hardly news.
their eyes were open, but still they were blind...
Big deal, it will all be forgotten in a couple of weeks. He won't lose his job, if anything he'll make more money telling 'his story exclusive' to the media. I don't see how you guys can say footy players get away with more stuff when they are in most cases treated harsher getting the typical legal punishment plus the club fines, even sackings in some cases and they get their indiscretion splashed all over the papers, magazines and tv. Professional footy players can't even go out and get on the piss nowadays without being fined and dealt other disciplanary measures. I don't see the big deal, he was a footy player, its not like being smart is a prerequisite for this career choice- he made a stupid mistake I'm sure u guys have made mistakes before.
I think there is a difference between owning up and saying yeah i was a twit and an excuse of oh yeah someone put it in my pocket that i don't know and i forgot to take it out. come on own up and be a man.
everyone makes mistakes but its how we own up to and deal with these mistakes that defines us as people. bit weak in my opinion
Who cares??? Its only ecstasy.... But he did the wrong not owning up to it.
Half the twits on here can't even seem to own up and admit they did wrong when they did. God know how many-
I got booked by damned pigs for only going *insert random speed here*
I got defected by bastard cops
I got done by a speed camera they are just revenue raising boohoo
I had an accident it wasn't my fault
I do burnouts on the road and its my god given right
I smoke marijuana and I don't care it should be legal
threads I have read on here over the years
Just in the last couple of days we have threads- I got booked by speed camera they should have taken extra off for error margin, I got done cos my car was unregistered but its not my fault blame Aus. post.
So given that probaly half the general public can't admit when they have ****ed up why would we expect any more or less from someone just because he is a famous ex nrl player.
Hahaha Johnsy loves the eccys. Good on him for owning up and confessing that he has used ecstasy recreationally for the past 10 years. Hes retired now so it doesnt matter. Hes team mates knew, hes family knew and Newcastle knights knew that he was an ecstasy user. Now we are going to have to listen to the media describe him as scum of the earth for his drug use.
he has come out and said it wasnt slipped in his pocket and he was planning on taking it.
What makes this kind of funny is the govt are running campaigns against drugs saying how it will effect everything you do etc. Yet these high profile sportsman are taking these drugs and are some of the best players in oz...its kind of funny in that sense.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
- Theodor Seuss Geisel
The think is Joey was a high profile sportsman before he became a drug head. I also don't think he was doing it enough to affect his performance. I have known people who have been affected by things Joey has done while high. So whoever thinks he is a hero for taking drugs is a ****ing idiot. I'd like to see you get punched in the face by him...actually I wouldn't, because you would probably profit greatly from the experience.
Settle down buddy, don't take it out of context of what she's saying. Sure, he's a fool for taking eccy, and so is everyone else that does. The fact that he is a high profile person also enforces the fact that he is human and NOT infallible like all of us.
He will loose big time for it.
Re: God given right to do burnouts.
Why don't you do it in your own street and in front of your house then?
Nobody said he was a hero as such, I'm just saying I don't think he deserves to be defended. He could have been a bigger man and done something about his problem long ago, instead, he went on like an idiot and now he is basically getting off with little more than a slap on the wrist. Medical excuses are a joke. He could get a prescription for drugs to help depression if he needed to.
I didn't once say he was a hero, I think he is a ******** for doing drugs but nevertheless he is human. The reprecussions for him are going to be a lot worse than if average joe blogs who got busted for possession and let of with a warning. That would be it for the average joe, but for joey he has to face up to the media, his fans, his own demons and not to mention his family- he has to explain to his 7yr old son what a ******** he has been because he is front page news.
Anyone that does think he is a hero thinks that because of his footy career- because he is widely reknowned as the greatest rugby league player in the world ever not because of his drug taking
Its like all the fellas here who think Peter Brock was a hero, they think this because of his racing career, all of those Bathurst wins. They don't think he was a hero because he was is a dirty rotten sleazebag who cheated on his wife![]()
everyone gets a slap on the wrist for first time offence, it has nothing to do with his celeb status.
and he said it's not a problem, it's something he does for rec use.
and i'll defend him because im my eyes he's done no harm to anyone, if he likes to take drugs for fun and excitement then thats his choice... who am i to judge his actions, i may not agree but he's only human. give him a break i say.
