I was driving home from the Miami Grand Prix on I-95 and got stopped by Florida Highway Patrol... He was positive I went off the track and was headed the wrong way... too damn funny. There was another time on South Beach where it's jammed with people and all of the sudden thousands of people stepped off the road on to the curb. They started chanting "Light it up". Well I wasn't stupid... so I looked for the cops... They looked at me, smiled, and one cop spun his finger as to signal it was time to light 'em up. I did this Top Fuel burnout for about 100 feet!!! The crowd went nuts in approval.
    ----------------------------------------------------

ohhh that thing sound insane!!!, lol at the cop spining his finger, who could resist.

Wow I bet that would scream. But did I read right? There is no easy way of changing gears while moving? It sounds like you have to drive in whatever gear you start in.

    Yep, no clutch either....

I can't see how it would be road legal even in the US if he can't stop the car without stalling.

i think he's talking about a fully manualised auto?? it just makes no sence any other way...

Having a manualised auto where you can't change gears unless you're stationary makes no sense either

If it was a manualised auto, it'd be easy to make an extended shifter to the front of the car (only need an up and down shift), sounds to me like its a normal manual (compared to following a gearbox pattern).

Either way if you can't change gears when moving, its pretty useless if you ask me.

sounds like its just a normal auto where you can change gears from 1st to 2nd to 3rd by pushing the stick up, but because of the hard acceleration, he's changed it so you pull it back, hence not fighting against the G's when you change gears

i missed that part, i thought he said you had the capability to take off from what ever gear you wanted so you didn't fry the wheels if the cops were behind you, you'd start in second but still went though all the gears while normal driving if you shifted into those gears.... can someone confirm this??

Trans is a special built TH-400 with reverse valve body so you pull the shifter back... you need this because it accelerates pretty hard. It is also a MANUAL shift, but with no clutch
you call your self car enthusists but you dont understand that TH400 stands for turbo 400 ,you know the auto gearbox that holden put behind most of there 308s in the 80s and also found in any decent chev powered street car.hahahahaha you all make me laugh.

It is also a MANUAL shift, but with no clutch.
Whatever gear you put it in, that's the gear it stays in. So if you want to start off in second
because the police are behind you and you don't want to smoke the tires... you can.
He is saying that whatever gear your in it STAYS IN, getting at the point that its like a MANUAL, but its an AUTOMATIC. Because these days when you have the clutchless manual (triptronic) AUTOS they do change gears by themselves if YOU don't do it for the car. That make it more clear? So yes, it works like any normal Stage 3 shift kitted car but the valve is reversed to instead of pushing the gear stick UP (like in our commodores) you have to pull it downward.

Dosn't the TH stand for Turbo-Hydramatic? (Turbo for short?)

That's a big meh from me. I couldn't care less about model numbers of engines pre 2000, let alone gearboxes.

I only commented on how it read. As soon as I see part numbers I just skim over it

    But elitists make me laugh.

Judging by your reaction, you either need to get laid, or take a big dump.

Thanks for the PM. Your sentence construction is amazing. Too bad you didn't run it through a spell checker. 10 points for effort though.

Haha you moron. Making assumptions about who I am.

Just to clarify, yes I work in IT, yes I earn my own cash (probably a bit more than you given the way you speak), yes I pay for my own cars, yes I work on my cars. Sorry I don't work on 80's cars, I don't buy 80's cars, maybe thats why I don't need to work on my car so much.

Sorry my daddy couldn't buy me a cool car like a VS exec

As I said, as the ebay listing read, it sounded like it was a manual. I'm sorry that I didn't know the model number of a 25 year old gearbox. Get a life mate. I can work on my LS1, actually I just took off my t56 the other week to replace my clutch and flywheel, does that make me cool like you?
