Hey there, im just chasing some information before i go out n pay someone a couple of hundred bux to give me useless information.
I currently have Foxtel Digital via Satellite but i would like to upgrade to Foxtel IQ. I have called Foxtel and local communication companies but they are useless and wont give me any information before "charging a call-out fee" The best ive got atm is that Foxtel IQ relies on 2 lines from the LNB to send & receive. Well currently i have a ACER LNBFTU on the dish with 2 coax lines coming from it.. inside i only use 1 line from the dish and the other is just sitting there.
Question in simple:
Is this the correct LNB required for Foxtel IQ and if not what do i need?
Any information would be great as i currently pay $84 a month and im only home for 1 week a month because i work a 3 & 1 roster on a minesite 400km's from home.
would happily pay in beer.. but i doubt anyone lives in my region.
Cheers Mike.
Never Look Back
hey mate, well im not quite up to speed but thought id let you know what i no, i have foxtel iq at my place (love it!) and i thinks its well worth the extra cash, it can hold probably like a 100 hours of shows in it id say, now i dont think there is any difference to the actual install whether your have iq or standard foxtel, i think the only difference is iq requires a phone line to watch any of the pay per view stuff, i have 2 boxes n one in my room doesnt have this phone line but still works perfectly.
i thought the only difference was the the box has a hard drive so you can download onto it. but then when you series link a showi t does seem to send some sort of transmition to get the series link info..
so if anything this post confirms: FOXTEL IQ FTW! lol
The LNB you have is a dual output. That means it is capable of running two STB's. If you already have Foxtel Digital, all you need is the IQ box and pay the extra per month for the privilege.
