Ok, a mate of mine just got a fine for "Driving Defective Vehicle". Now, does this mean that his car is now registered as defective and it cannot be driven? They didnt affix a sticker or anything like that to his car although they did take a picture of the rear bumper.
The car has "excessive oil leaks" and this is why it was defected.
he can still drive it , but must fix the faults and then present the car to DOT for inspection within the time frame given on the original ticket.. all of this info should be on the ticket
Its not what you know or who you know , its how well you can fake it
Correct me if I'm wrong, they would advise the transport department that it's no longer roadworthy. He will need to fix the leaks and get a roadworth, then speak to transport.
<davy> remember when braveheart came out and everyone said you can't have mel gibson playing a scottish guy cuz it wont be realistic?
<davy> well look at him now
<davy> an alcoholic racist
as far as i can remember, you only need to present it, as previously said, at a DOT inspection site, or cop shop if there isnt one in your area.
From my experience, the DOT guys are generally really tight-arse, and will pull your ride for a smear of snot from the RNS. But then, like holden dealerships, they cant all be pricks.![]()
