Just drop an extra muffler in and have it db tested. Piece of cake. Even have it tested before hand, it may be fine.

Actually, you can't go over something like 76db drive by. Not sure of the standards, i know it has come down 2 db though.

Yeah think mine have around 10 x 4mm holes in each plate. Mine wouldn't rev past 4000rpm, too much back pressure

pick up an oldie from the wreckers and slap that on there for your tests & DB Cert.

Put on your good system (cat back) for "Race days"

Depends on the exhaust, for the likes of mine which was hand build on the car there was no way in hell I was taking it off!

Well i havw organised another cat and i will have a stock tail pipe and muffler fitted to the car for the testing.Spoke to the tester and told him what i had and what i was doing to sort it out and he told me that when its done book it in and he will test it.Straight up he said that only one muffler would not pass.
Im pretty sure the limit is 90db but i cant find the paper work at the moment.
Soon as its passed the old rear pipe will be giong back on but i will keep the legal cat as the one on it now makes it sound crap.

wont disagree with you. but when my mate was gettin his EPA off (he put a V6 stock exhaust on plus hes got a 286 cam so the car in lumpy as f***) an as they were doin the test he switched off the car walked over to my mate and said "you better of not put plates in her" and checked all the flanges.

it is more work in some ways, but when my mate got pulled over he just flicked the switch and it sound like stock car and the cop didnt say anything. so in the end it saves u time of gettin EPA's and then puttin restrictor plates in and gettin the EPA off.
