Man beaten after admiring car | NEWS.com.au

POLICE have said a man is lucky to be alive after he was savagely beaten as his shocked wife looked on, after he told a group of men he loved their Hummer.

i saw the same hummer exactly described bout 2 days ago in stalbans even took a pic of it with me fone. not very good pick tho cos both were moving while i took it

Seriously though, people like this should just be shot, its not like they have a worth to society, the vehicle was probably funded by illegal activity. I sure as hell do not know any wealthy men who go around beating people up because they looked at their car.

ppl like that are getting shot these days.. But who knows if those 2 cuoples were inocent. They cuold be in with the deal at the time and was belted cos a deal went rong and then the cops came and they had to make up some story

Theirs 2 sides to every story, it seems pretty unlikely the guy is completly innocent. Honestly if their was some1 "admiring" my car at 5:30 in the morning i would be seriously considering their to be a fight, but thats caus i live in a less then desirable neighbourhood and anyone up at that hour is up to start trouble.
To me it sounds like a typical drug deal gone wrong, seriously admiring a car at 5:30 in the morning, then six guys come out and belt him, just seems a bit bizare to me.

I was cruising down Hindley st one night about 2-3yrs ago and we got stuck in traffic. Coming the other way was a smick looking Commadore with 4 young lads in it, caps backwards etc. etc.
I was checking out the Commy and just about to ask the driver what it went like when the tool in the back drivers side put his head out the window and says "what are you fn looking at".
Mate, i wanted to rip this guys throat out but i calmly turned to the driver and said "its a shame to spend so much hard earned money on a nice car only to have a back seat wannabe turn people away from admiring it"
The driver jumped out of the car and i thought here we go but he opened the back door and told the guy to get out a f off.
The guy got out and legged it, we saw him later that evening crossing memorial dr heading to nth Adelaide and he dead set crapped himself and bolted.

I saw a yellow Hummer in Canberra on Saturday. Looks like a bulky kitchen appliance on wheels. Maybe he should have yelled "Nice Leaf Suspension!" instead.

lol nice, at least the driver had some sence about him, also reminds me of a time we pulled up to the local iga and had a mate in the backseat (he really is a wank) called a security guy a fag...lol i'll never forget the secies face when i told him that he could have his way with my mate, just don't dint the car...my mate **** himself and hid in the back winding his window up as fast as he could, security guy thanked me jumped in the front seat and just gave him an earful about being a smartass little soft **** lol

It does sound sus, but then again there are a lot of ********s out there.

I remember i was in Melton (**** hole, west of melbourne) one night at my ex's best mates party, and i walked down to the bottle o to get more beer. I saw a Chevvy Impala dumpd on its guts, jet black with a blower sticking out of the bonet
, and it was one sexy car. It was parked in front of a tattoo palour, next to the bottle o and i just sat there and stared. Went inside, brought a slab and came out. I took a few photos on my phone and walked down the street, i got about 30 meters and what i think mustve been there owner came out and told me to give me the camera... I told him i didnt have one and then my phone started rining so i got it out of my pocket and the guy grabbed it and smashed it on the concrete, called me a stupid **** and walked off. I didnt really care to much about the phone cause it was a peice of crap anyway. Im just glad he didnt touch the slab.

being in brizzie you can probably relate!
its funny most of the time when i see a good car around here the missus and i take a look and some people are ok but more and more increasing people are getting more and more like what the #@$* are you lookin at? now the only thing i can put this mentality down to is that these people once they have done their cars up to a nice machine think that they are vin deisel crossed with hard gangstas & now that their car looks cool or something they have to be as hard as their car looks? what a looser mentality!

Very true, I don't why they do those things but I feel great when people admire my cars.

Probably because the car is made of stolen parts and they are worried you'll pin them for a crime lol.

I think it's related to the fact that society is very aggressive these days and they're protecting their car. I know i wouldn't want people eying off my pride and joy (the area i live in is dodgy and they'd probably be more likely to carjack me)

I don't blame you for feeling that way...i spent the weekend in bundy when the airshow was on, anyway, on the morning that the airshow started, i saw a tent up across the road from the hostel i was staying in, with a whole heap of cop cars in the area...turns out some poor guy was murdered there...which scared the **** out of me, because:

a) I walked right past there just a couple of hours before the murder
b) Apparently he wasn't doing anything wrong, just walking back home from the bar
c) It happened right across the damn road from where i was!!!

Scary stuff...sadly this is the world that we live in today.
