ACA on budget airlines - bull?
Did anyone watch the story on ACA last night about budget airlines? Anyway they were saying that apparently when Jetstar has flights operating, they have no air traffic control, which my parents believe. I refuse to believe it...honestly, how the HELL would CASA allow something so STUPID to happen? Overseas, yes i can believe that, but not anywhere in Australia.
Anyway, what are your thoughts...is it a grain of truth or typical ACA BS? I'm voting typical ACA BS.

Thats your problem.
Planes without flight control? haha yeah right.
Considering air traffic control is actually done independantly at airports. I highly doubt an airport is just going to say make sure you look left and right before you land

Another case of larger corporations paying a network millions in advertising so they can do a bull**** story on the competition. I don't even watch ACA or TT anymore, propaganda pedlars the lot of them.

Yep. BS. No way in the world would that happen. If it did, Virgin would not be in business.

I think you should all apply for a job with ACA, you basically just took your opinion and shot down what is a truthful story. Well done guys, all the best in your cheque book journalism career!!
With a just a little investigation you would understand that this story is quite truthful.
Avalon airport out of Geelong operates without a manned control tower. There has been talk about the danger of this for some time, yet nothing seems to get done.
Tullamarine currently does the movements for Avalon, which considering its some 90 km away is just not acceptable.

I was replying to it being about Jetstar. I didn't know Avalon runs without traffic control, but thats an airport issue, not the airline.
Excuse my ignorance on the topic, I've never heard anything on it at avalon, as I'm not from victoria.
My comments were still correct. That its controlled by an independant body at airports.

Actually it is Jetstars responsibility as they lease the airport through Fox. They don;t see the need to hire an Air traffic controller.

I thought the whole unmanned flight tower thing with Jetstar was in Adelaide only...I'm pretty sure they mentioned it was on the flights into Adelaide.

No need to be a smartass prick about it. People are expressing their opinions here. You could have put your point foward without undermining other users of this board. Get some people skills.

Ah huh, my people skills are fine, unlike the way you speak to people.
That aside, you say i am being a smart ass, if people like you didn't just presume before opening their mouth this wouldn't be an issue now would it.
People are so quick to try and shut something down without ANY knowledge whatsoever. Perhaps if people looked into things first they wouldn't feel offended by comments made towards them.

It's Geelong also, although ACA may have just concentrated on one site. Its quite often made reference of in the local rag here.
