Show'n Shine - does a dent really matter?
To cut a long story short....a small country town is having a show'n shine on Oct 1st along with their annual show. A car club I'm in is going over and putting on a small display. We're taking PEAKN6 over to try it on the dyno with the new motor (nothing flash). We've been thinkin bout putting the car on display with the club, but just wondering wat ur thoughts are coz it has a dent in the side (pic below) and the bonnet has crusty paint. We've decided that when we switch the motor over next week we're gonna clean the engine bay up to make it look neat and tidy, then we can remove the bonnet and just have the engine bay on display. The whole motor including the injection gear will be matt black, and as we're putting new gaskets in it, she won't be leaking.
I just dunno wat peoples thoughts would be coz of the damage to the front. We've never put a car on display, and as it's only a small country town, we thought we might, then we'd be supporting the club as well.
The main thing I'm worried about is everyone walking up, laughing at the dent then walking off again thinkin we're a bunch of tools coz we put the car on display with damage.
Anyways here's some pics.
No dent.....
Dent.....
Whaddya think?

I think it would be like putting a Model on the run walk with a broken nose.

You's have a good point, so maybe we should give it a miss. I might ask my boss if he can spray up a fender for us, and the end on the bumper.......we really wanna chuck it on display so if we get the new motor done and put in early, I might try and fix the damage.
It needs the inside of the engine bay (where the dent is) to be pushed out....but if we chuck another fender on the same colour, put a new end piece on the bumper, try and make up the decals, and buy a second hand chrome strip for the headlight (actually I can pinch that off my car)....then it might look half decent.
If the motor is in and running by the show, it will be going on the dyno....but hopefully we can fix up the damage and chuck it on show as well.
I'll let ya's know how we go.

Haha we don't have one
But we were gonna try and make sumfin up with all specs and wat we've done, and photo's during the build.....coz altho it don't look like it, it's had a fair bit of work done to do.
I suppose if it went with the dent, it would show that we're still proud of the car with or without the dent....so like it or lump it sort of thing haha....but yeah might make up a show board thingo.....will even put 'There is no dent behind this sign...' on the bottom haha, or something similar...just to make a joke out of the situation

Go find a hot chick and get her to stand there covering the dent in the show as a model or show girl or something.
Make sure she ain't too hot cos all the attention will be on her instead of the car LOL....
Seriously I'd give it a miss.
By the way HOT car you got there!!! NICE!!!!

Its up to you. When i had my classic BMW it had the front smashed in and i wanted it in the show as it was in immaculate condition a week earlier. They didnt let me inside but there was an outter area for cars that didnt make the cut. Bought the car for $4500 and had it for abour 6 months and sold it a few weeks after with the dent for $3900 cos i had it at the show for sale.
