As the title suggests, could a Holden 6 last as long as a Ford 250 Crossflow? Probley not after watching this video of a bloke who put a brick on the accelorator & it finally seized after 3.10 of full throttle revving, & it re-started the next day too.

Those old 250s are bullet proof.
I used too give my old XF a hardtime, and was still going strong.
haha not likely ford sixes last ALOT longerthats why they are used by taxi companys as they get further life out of the engines and they are strong as an ox! i have heard of some ford motors still running around with over 500xxx on the clock!

**** i got an EA once to flog off and it had 700plus klm, original motor and went well.Sorry but i cant see too many V6s going that long.
yep my m8 has an ex taxi the au, its got ova 500,000km n still goin strong
yeah but taxis almost run 24/7 so the engine is nearly always at running temp, but a V6 still wouldn't last as long in the same condition.
haha my mates car has stopping going up at 999,999. Ex taxi car and it gets flogged. Mind you the car is literally falling apart. We slapped fragile stickers over the Falcon badges.
I remember our when our local taxi company had Holden VT SS taxi.....Nothing but a piece of **** it was.

there is a vt taxi around where I live done past 800,000kms. Had a chat with the owner and it went through several gearboxes but the engine is still original apart from few usual repairs.
My mums old VB would.. Loved that car with everything, She bought it with 290,000km on the clock and god knows when it stopped working but it stopped before she bought the car.. That was back in 1991.. It parted us in 2005
.. But as i didn't have any petrol to get it off the back lawn rust has set in bad i used some 2 stroke to run it and drive it out the front to the truck that was collecting it.. But it smelt like eggs bad but it fired and done a wheelie still, Dam i miss that car it has caricature was a top car never broke down..

It got binned.
The fords are built to different specification- predominantly a torque motor which isnt so good at revving, whereas the holdens tend to be a higher revving motor. The more revs to create the same power, the more wear.
100 250 crossflows vs 100 holden V6 under the same conditions you will find typically the crossflow lasts longer. However, as with any product built to a price some will fail before expected. It's that damn bellcurve at work
I think it depends on how the engine is being cared for during its working life. Like frequent servicing, quality oils/fluids, quality replacement parts and obviously how its been treated. Also operating conditions like hot weather, cold temps, dusty area, average load on the car etc etc.. Too many variables.
I never changed oil in the VB, As it had done a rear main seal so it was like topping new oil once a month anyway, But the price quote to fix it was ridicules so we just left mats around. But the old boy towed my sisters VL Calais because my brother didn't want his EF to strain a muscle. But that was some time ago.

Yet at my bosses car yard, theres an XD with 134,000km which takes a couple of goes to start & needs choke for at least a couple of mins.
