    Default Draining my swimming pool

Summer is coming up and my swimming pool has surely seen better days.

i want to drain out all the water in the pool because i want to paint the surface in blue and plus the water is'nt in top condition.

my pool is quite large it approx. holds 3,200 litres.

my question is should i alert the local council about my actions about 'draining' the water from my pool?

3200 is more like a wader isn't it? As for draining it as long as it doesn't affect your neighbours and the water isn't rancid dump it in your yard. You council will let you know what you have to pay/do to refill it... and if you are still even allowed. Might have to have a truck fill it...

oh woops, typo, its approx 32,000 litres, well it may not be large anymore nowadays since it was first constructed 15 years ago haha, so its alot less than average size these days lol.

but yeah anyways, my pump and filter has a back-wash system which is hooked up to the pipes in my background drainage system and leads to the gutters out on the street, so would tha be ok to drain it like that or na?

as for the re-fill...lol oh boy im gunna have to make some phone calls for that and see weather or not i can do so lol.

ill give the local council a visit on tuesday

When your neighbours go out, jump the fence and throw their hose over.

This plan will only work if they have a pool too, or they are really thirsty

Wash yours and your neighbours cars with it. If too much water left over, put up a car washing service and make some $$.

..yeah its a shame to run all that water down the drain, although it may not be the best water to use to wash your car, its most likely better off for watering plants, crops or what ever a farm needs to water.....that's if the Ph. Level is a-o-k to use lol.

You should ask some professionals about draining the pool.

    Draining Inground Swimming Pools

Mind you I have seen Council Pools drained during winter without any harm.

    not always

i had to drain mine a few years ago to fix a crack in the bottom put a good percentage of the 40,000 litres on the lawn and gardens.

not being much of a gardener i didn't realise most plants and grass don't like salt water
