    Default Anyone tried this?

Hey guys, have any of you tried this method of dent removal? It only involves compressed air and a heat gun. Just woundering if anyone has had any success with this.

yeah well i got a decent dent from when my younger brother drove the car and i was thinking bout giving it a shot but i wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this method. I also read that for smaller dents you can do a similar thing with dry ice.

i cant follow the link but i presume they are heating the dent then cooling the inside with the air which shrinks the inner steel and pops the dent .I use the same sort of process but i use a carbon rod out of an old round phone battery dont know if you had them in aussie they have a 10mm round carbon rod in them you round the end off then get your battery and jumper leads hook the negative to the carbon rod and positive to car body rub the rod in a circle on the dent then hold a cold rag on the raised bit of the dent pop! dent gone ive used this to even get rid of deep dents caused by a crowbar sliding from one side of the boot too the other works great and can remove little shallow dents without the paint being effected great little trick i learnt from a panel beater years ago .you can do it with oxy acetalene but you only want to heat the dent not the surrounding panel even a little gas soldering torch pen thing will do it quite well .the cold just shrinks one side of the steel making it pop out

You have to be carefull cos sometimes the dent will pop the other way and make it bigger . you need to get the flame as small and as hot as possible then hold it on the dent for a second. If it pops out too far then you can file it back with a Banana file
