Place To Camp? Victoria

Hey cuople of me mates today thought bout going camping real soon. But wanna know if theres any nice places to go camping that allows to make fire and is close to the beach or if better on the beach.

So if anyone knows of a place in melbourne for that please do reply and tell. Also if you can tell of your experience there.

We go down to cumberland river quite often, 2 minute walk from the beach and some great walking tracks. There isnt many places that you let camp directly on a beach anymore.

definitely the rosebud foreshore. its practically on the beach and its close to shops and everything too if thats what you want.

go to the murry river, its quite, you can have a fire and it is as good as a beach.
i go there all the time and i think it the best place to be.

i went camping up on the murry at yuluptia??? island a few weeks ago.
Great area and we had it all to ourselves. Just a bit hard to get to

Go down to the otways, down the wait a while road.Haven't been there myself but friends have told me they wouldn't camp anywhere else.

When you say practicaly on the beach do u mean like u can actually put up a tent and a fire there?

well there is the water, then the sand, then straight after that is the grass which is where you put your tent. the water is probably 100m away from where you set up. im not sure about fires though sorry...

Hey champ, was also up at Ulupna Island a few weeks ago, it's about 10/15 mins from Strathmerton which is up past Shepparton, great spot, right on the Murray! Heaps of room, some sandy/beach spots there, had a camp fire going, music, motie riding all day etc... Cant beat it.

Gee i love going to the Murray for the Southern 80. Nothing like going in a big group, a lot of tents and alcohol, sunburn and stupidity

thats where i go Strathmerton it is a great place, you can do anything there.
