    Default What do You Think???

There was a story on today tonight on approxamately monday night about the cut and shut dodgy repairs to writeoffs and the WOVR are thinking of doing away with repairable writeoffs. They may even ban the good people that like doing up old cars and repairing them properly

    • people should be allowed to buy and repairing RWOVs properly and doing up old cars and repairing rust and cracks in the panels and chassis in old cars and RWOVs and presenting RWOVs legally and properly and keeping all receipts as long as its done properly
    • Don't Change the laws at all on repairing Chassis and panels in old cars.
    • Bring the laws back the way they were 10 years ago and keep it that way.

I think the system of statutory and repairable write offs is good. Of course it inconveniences some people and this must be balanced against the fight against organized car theft and re-birthing.

i think it is good in some ways i just want the laws kept this same way for ever and ever and i think people should be allowed to buy and repair RWOs as long as its done properly and all receipts kept and its presented for inspection.

also i think people should be allowed to repair chassis with cracks and rust also in old cars when they do them up and i dont want that law to change.

i just think they should only ban dodgy people and car criminals repairing RWOs and only those not the good people like us that want to do them up properly

Why didn't I think of that - Just ban the bad people and make it illegal. Ya know if we do make it illegal all the bad people will stop, all sit in a circle, join hands and sing kum-by-yah (sp?).....

do you think the law will get passed because i dont want it to pass i want it to stay like it is now for ever. i think only us people that want to do up cars properly should be allowed to not the dodgy people.

Yeah but how does the law determine who's dodgy and who isn't?

"Oh I promise I'll fix it properly"?

You either ban it or allow it - that way it's black & white and clearly defined.

This whole thread is useless, dunno why I even bothered

Take a look at the options up the top - they don't even make sense and two of them (I think) are saying the same thing!

Easy. It'll say something along the lines of:

"Dodgy ****ers aren't allowed to rip people off otherwise they are going to be in big trouble".

yeh thats such a great idea just stop the dodgy ppl that will solve everthing
and while the govenment are making these magic laws we will stop people who are going to get bankrupt in the future from getting loans and people who arnt going to make insurance claims can be the only ones allowed to buy insurance.
I didnt realise that the government had this brilliant clairvoyance
