    Default prices going up

hello, yous guess prices have gone up and they are going up again i want to try and stop prices going up and up, for example a shop has to put prices up because the suppliers costs have gone up because the supplier's supplier's prices have gone up.

i just want prices to stop going up and i want it to go down and stay down for ever and ever because there are a lot of low income workers, yous probably know what its like, that have to put things on hold a bit longer because of it and some people cant claim as much money on tax as others can with their jobs. it would be good if everything in the world went down in price a bit like they were 7 years ago

Are you serious? It would be nice, yes but simply not possible. Like you said the cost of supply has gone up. If someone drops the price on goods when it costs more to produce then someone is getting screwed big time. Take for example fruit and vegies have gone up because of the drought. Farmers aren't able to produce the same quantity of the same quality like they use too. People still need to eat. Demand starts to overtake supply. You say it would be nice if everything went down in price. Well not really. Think about the people that bought a house in the last couple of years. If house prices fell you're house would be worth less than when you bought it and many people would face financial ruin. Seven years ago our economy was no where near as strong as it is now. Imagine if that went back to what it was seven years ago. Thats what you call a recession and people start to loose their jobs. Not so good is it.

Whats causing the drought? A severe lack of rain would be my guess

Same thing happened two years ago when there was a cyclone in queensland and wiped out nearly every Banana crop. As a result it got to the point where it cost about $20 for 3 bananas. Then Banana growers got things together for the following year and prices went back to normal.

Supply and demand. For some things there is more demand than there is plentiful supply.

What about the cost of transport?? I mean higher petrol prices probably demands higher transport fees to cover the cost??

Not nessecarily.I'm in the transport game and if anything we've had to leave or sometimes drop our prices because of competition. The drought has caused alot of grain transport companys to seek outside work so they've been coming down in their droves to seek work just to keep their rigs.

Every transport company i know and do work for raise and lower their fuel levies to accommodate the changes, most companies for October were around the 14-16% mark. Specialist areas like refrig transport and chemical bulk moreso prices are skyrocketing.

This sort of thing was very popular in the 40's - late 80's in Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. It is/was called communism and it doesn't work. You really have no idea do you?
