Does anyone know if failed subjects count in calculating your course average?

Dunno. i think they should because they tell a story. You pay HECS/HELP on them and i bet that would suck in itself!
Yep. In my first year of Uni I picked a bad major (Accounting) and spent way too much time on the turps. It's a pain in the arse, but hey. Not much I can do now but balance them out with some good marks.
I've redone a couple of the subjects.
uni is hard work and it takes a lot of time management, self discipline and prioritising to do well.
failing is usually a good motivator.

Been partying a lot??
i spoke to a mayte about this as he transfered into my course due to failing some subjects, he is under the impression that his bad marks wont follow him provided he passed enough subjects to have completed the required number of units. like i have to do 144 over 4 years so if i fail 10 i will have to do 155 and make sure i pass atleast 144 of them. hope it makes sence.

All ive got to say is that External Uni destroys lives.
when i went to uni, a little while back now, honours was calculated on your course average over the last couple of years of the course only. you could f-up the first year all you wanted, as long as you repeated failed subjects.
Yeah, I went out a couple of times. Bloody uni parties giving cheap/free drinks ALL THE BLOODY TIME. It's awesome.
I have to complete 144 (24 subjects, 8 per year) credit points over 3 years, but the subjects I've failed have given me 0 credit points. Hopefully 0 credit points means it's not counted in anything.
normally the fail mark isnt counted towards your gpa... or so I'm lead to believe. Some stingey companies want you to list all the topics you've studied and the marks you've obtained however. I would give your uni admin a call as i daresay it would depend on the uni.
heya, um studying to get my bachelor of education - design and technology so basically i will be a tech studies teacher, woodwork metalwork plastics, photography, digital drawing CAD all that stuff. good course actually gets me Cert 2 in 4 different trades
cheers,
nick

My weighted average mark was calculated from day 1.
In NSW failed subjects count towards your weighted average.
Regardless of whether or not the credit points count. It shows up on your transcript and therefore is calculated into your mark.
