Annoying mod MK2

I love the annoying mod thread. It reminds me of the time.....

My second car was a 253 Monaro coupe. One crazy weekend I decided to put on performance headers. I pulled it all apart (exhaust included) and fitted the headers. One problem, I didn't reckon on was the exhaust pipes not fitting properly. I had to modify them to fit to the headers and when I'd finally acheived this feat, I didn't have enough pipe to run to the back of the car.

On the Sunday I had a minor brainstorm and modified both pipes to extrude from the front of the rear wheels (if you get my drift). I manged to acheive this with only a hacksaw, a few spanners and a hammer. Oh yeah, and a couple of chrome tips to make it look cool.

Great thing was, not only did it look cool, it also sounded bloody awesome. When I used to drop it back to third gear, it used to bubble and cough and it was just such a sweet sound.

That reminds me when i put a couple "Thrush" pipes on my old XY panel van many years ago . i tried to join the 2 1/2 inch pipe on the thrush pipes to the 1 3/4 outlet on the extractors with 2 1/2 inch flexi pipe .About every 100 miles the flexi pipe would slide off the extractors and it would usually happen at night so we would just keep driving .A 302 at full noise from the extractors is bloody loud .
